ok so I know this has been gone over a million times but new to the tacomas. I have a 2014 Tacoma 4x4 with 27k miles on it and I started getting an inconsistent hum from the front end about 500 miles ago. My truck only seems to make the noise when it's cold or cooler outside and goes away after about 20mins of driving. After researching I thought maybe wheel bearings were going so I replaced them and still no better. Could my needle bearings be taking a shit on me already with that low of miles? Thanks

They could very well be. It'll be more pronounced if you're lifted. Easy way to check is when it does it, switch to 4wd if it goes away it's the needle bearing. Depending on when the truck was first sold you could get the dealer to fix it, theres a tsb out for it.

My truck has a 3" lift kit on it with 285/70/17s . It does have a 1" differential drop on it and allpro uniball upper a arms. I will try switching in and out of 4hi today and see if it goes away thanks

I've got about the same setup. I have the needle bearing vibe, it's probably your problem. Since it's lifted the dealer won't warranty replace it. Search on here for the ECGS Needle bearing fix, that's the best option to get it fixed.

No, lots of people drive it with the vibe for awhile. I would replace it when it's convenient though.

I drove 10 or 15 thousand miles with mine vibrating. Bearing looked just fine when it came out. My mechanic agreed. No scoring on the axle either.
