I ended up putting the "stock" SC tune back on. Initial test drive AFRs were good. Runs like a raped ape. Bottom end still seems sluggish. But no lean conditions like I was seeing before.

 

Mine has always felt sluggish on the bottom end too. Once she gets over 3k rpms or so, and its like night and day difference.

 

What, exactly, do you mean by "I installed the BD?" It's been pretty well established there is no putting any (other) tune "back on," once the ECU has been flashed away from stock.

 

Smaller pulley will help with that bottom end

 

You do realize you can uninstall a tune and download another from BD? The ECU shows that it was reflashed after removal of a tune however.

 

I have the smaller pulley. The stock tune was fine with the stock pulley. Once I installed the smaller pulley and downloaded the tune for it from BD was when shit started getting wonky.
Regearing should help the bottom end also

 

I realize that's what's advertised, but I understood it's not what most folks have experienced.

 

I am on my third different tune at this time. And probably at least one more if BD ever puts out an update for the smaller pulley.

Not holding my breath. At least now I have a spare MAF sensor. Damn 101 code appears to have been caused by the tune.

 

Same happened to me. So now i have a new maf sensor sitting in my garage.

 

Before MAF sensor change/P0101 code, always check first the LTFT reading.

 

Is anyone/has anyone here tried the URD 7th injector kit for the 4.0l s/c?

Just wondering if that would help resolve the lean conditions some guys here are seeing.

 

Ahhh another $600 for something bd shouldve gotten right earlier.
I would rather just buy a ucon (when theyre available) because it would take care of the problem, would run better overall, it would support future mods, and I wouldnt have to worry about it anymore.

So looking at the chart.. for the supercharged Taco, with the TRD flash, they're saying you get an extra 25 HP by adding the BD tune.

 

I'm curious about this but, given BD's reputation and (others') experience in this thread, I'll let someone else roll the dice with this. In the meantime, my truck seems to run well on the TRD tune, even it seems a little rich.
