Do you have chironomids back there? It is a chironomid season on the interior lakes in BC right now.

I don't hear much about them (population wise) and don't hear of a "season". But I know of a few guys who fish those patterns and seem to do quite well.

Guy at the fly shop called them warpaint shiners. Went out to Deep Creek this morning. It was so blown out from last night's storms that I didn't bother walking far up the trail then the tubers took over. After that I went to the Oconaluftee, caught nothing but a chub.

I caught them on greenie weenies and a size 18 adams. It was kind of fun to watch them hammer the tiny dries but I would rather be catching browns and bows. I think I will come back one weekend when the rivers aren't so high and fast.

I travel to Arkansas to fish the White and/or Norfork a couple times a year. I love it out there. No telling what you'll catch right now. Bull Shoals has all 17 flood gates open. While I was out there earlier this month, Norfork had its flood gates open because of all the flooding. I didn't get to fish it on this last trip.

Will knows how to find the pigs, doesn't he? Lol

Can be very productive if tuned to the right depth, size and color.

He does indeed, though a blind man could find them there. Tremendous fun though and makes for good pics.

    Had a good memorial day.

Yea, he's got a good set up for someone trying to make money off of big fish. Gets a little tougher when you get on the public water, but there are still some good fish there.

They finally started generating some here. Hoping to go in about 45 mins when they turn it off and it is wadeable. Got a new fish pond sling pack to try out :woot:

IMG_20161218_215259.jpg With my First Guadalupe river Rainbow this past winter. River was at 600cfs. 25°, blowing 30mph. Ice all over my rod eyes. My first trout was up in Colorado, a day I'll never forget
