They also come with built in tie down points, accessory rails for cupholders/rod holders/tables etc, a standing pad, and better colors than most other brand offerings

Saw these in person and talked to the President of the company at Overland Expo East. Nice coolers, lots of features, thicker than Yeti/Rtic/etc, Pres is a good dude and didn't bash other companies yet had a great conversation about why his coolers are better(composition, USA built, Harley handles). He even discussed with me some things I was concerned about with my RTIC, said the material is similar/same, but their process is different. and yes they are EXPENSIVE

I mean, I could store my turkey sandwich in a 1" thick tubberware container with built-in speakers and an iPod hookup, but a ziplock will work just fine. I get the price for all the extras that come with the cooler, considering the price of a comparable Yeti, but how much stuff does one really need on a container for ice and food. Won't be long before coolers have more options than the Tacoma.

I'm sure there is a small market for them, but I think they're pricing themselves out of the game considering Yeti has a prestige that comes with it. You know the whole "Ohh, he has a Yeti" image. They'd be better off coming in between the Yeti and Rtic. Less profit on individual sales, but more profit overall by selling way more.

Ordered a tan 45 on 3rd of May. Arrived 23rd of May. Projected shipping date was 29th May so I'm pleased with that. Also ordered a medium duffel bag because I was drunk Internet shopping. That's not due to ship for a few weeks.

Overall, I like it, and look forward to using it during my five day truck-camping trip in the mountains in three weeks. The cooler has some rough finishing, but is better than some of the previously posted pictures. I'll be keeping it with little to no quibbles. It almost appears that the manufacturer is rushing the rotomold process and the plastic isn't filling out mold. Or maybe to save time they are removing them from the mold before they have cooled sufficiently. I was fingering some Yetis in Cabellas last week and for sure they are a premium product in comparison.

Maybe when Rtic aren't playing catchup with the summertime orders, or they slap the manufacturer a bit things will get nicer.

Pics so others can see what to expect:

Odd that the Rtic sticker looks crooked exactly the same amount as the one two pages ago. Like the jig is to blame and not a worker slapping them on at random. image.jpg

For the weight alone, these type of coolers are a no-go for me. I did a 4 day camping & fishing trip with a buddy last summer and he had a Yeti and I used my Coleman Xtreme Marine. It was over 80 each day and I noticed no significant difference in the performance of each.

I'll stick with the lighter & cheaper option that suites my needs & lifestyle.

I do have the soft sided RTIC 20 & love it! It certainly is by far better than other soft sided coolers.

    I'll be ordering a soft 20 and a roto 30.

    I think.

Gotta compare sizes in person with Yeti's as a sample.

Somewhere on TW, there was a few extensive reviews of the Ozark Trail which ended up being very poor...and apparently poor enough to attract attention from a rep of the company

The rep actually joined TW and started a focus group to improve the product...dunno if it's gone anywhere yet though

I had an ozark and returned it last week

Two of my buddies got one to

I was the only one that had the issues

    I disliked the handles

The lid started seperating and had a bubble effect

And the common O ring leak that i inteded to replace for a few dollars

I have a 6 pack cooler and an 80 qt.

No surprise.. the 6 pack cooler is too small to take stuff when we go out of town, and the 80 is far too big.
