I ordered the Giant Motorsports rear LT "Link Killer" kit with 21" of travel. Problem is it doesn't come with brake lines and want to try to order this stuff before install day. Anyone know how much of an extension I'll need?

Front is also ordered with Camburg but they are nice enough to include brake lines!

Ask Geoff? They were just talking about rear brake lines on the long travel bs thread. If you're good at putting in parameters in the search area you can probably find it by searching brake or brake line and keep it to the last few months...

I'm making the swap to LT soon. Ill be installing the TC +2 race series kit. did you guys use factory outer cv boots? do they articulate enough for the new suspension travel? a shop I talked to recommended buying some new fancy outer boots for $60 apiece. if the stock ones work fine I don't see the need to spend the extra $120

btw, the shop is cvj reman in Denver Colorado, total chaos told me to call them about axel stuff and they recommended I go with the better cv boots.

'06 DCSB- Right now I'm running a pretty decent M/T setup and whenever doing any fast wheeling, my rear end bucks all over the place. I'm looking into L/T rear for my truck to keep the rear end down. I'm not looking into hucking the truck off of dunes or racing it in any divisions, but I would like to get better performance going fast over whoops. I know that Deaver makes awesome springs for SUA, but are there any other recommendations? I cant decide on which direction to go :notsure:

What bump stops do you have in the rear, and what shocks? Any pics of your setup?

What sort of weight do you typically have in the bed? In my mind, you're bottoming out very easily which is causing the bucking you're referring to. Stiffer valving in your shocks can help, or you can rework your leaf springs to get more ride height. Add some leaves to carry more weight and/or re-arch them so they're not sitting flat.

The Dakars are brand new ( <4 months old). I don't carry much in the back of the truck at the moment. Just a full sized spare. I think I'm bottoming out because even in the parking lot, my truck sits with maybe 3-4" uptravel. If I look into SUA kits with hydro bumps, I could gain 6-7" uptravel maybe:confused:

Going SUA will make a huge difference. I had the j66 pack and went to the SUA from TC and man does it make a huge difference. Do that kit with a 10" bypass and you'll have a nice 6" of uptravel.

If I plan on going full LT F/R, Should I instead be looking at a more LT focused SUA Kit? Wheel travel is only 12" max with the TC Kit:
    http://www.chaosfab.com/2005-2015-Tacoma-Mid-Travel-Rear-Suspension-Kit-86450HD

Seems to be on the lower end of travel amount for SUA Kits.

I currently have the tc sua with relocated 12s on my ride. If you are going with a 2+ you may want to consider if, but if you want full LT then I recommend the dmz kit that is for long travel. I am taking off my tc kit in a month or two.

Yeah thats because its made to be a legit MT kit not a LT kit. If your gonna go full LT in the front then yeah go with another rear kit and a bedcage.

Based on personal experience though going with TC rear MT kit and sticking with a MT front is the best performance/dollar you can get. Because to go to the next level to really only get a couple more inches of travel requires some serious dough. But dont get me wrong, LT is f**ing awesome, just my 2 cents.

Is there anything wrong with running a full LT rear with MT Front? At least while Monies are collected for front LT? I've already spent what I thought was a good amount on the rear just to find out that it's my limiting factor.. I'd hate to go for the TC kit which seems perfect for my MT front only to take it off in a few years when I go full LT.

what do you think? if you had to do it over again would you have gone for the DMZ LT kit from the beginning instead of the TC?

    ...too much shit to list.
It completely depends on you, the driver. It's pretty easy to overdrive the truck when you have LT up front only to realize you just goofed when the the ass bucks like a bronco and you lawn dart.

IMO the +2 kit pairs nicely with a quality SOA leaf pack setup with a shock relocation and rear hydros. +3.5 up front...go SUA or links or the rear will never keep up.

Yea man if I had to do it over again I would have just dmz’d it from the get go. If you have a 3.5 front and put the tc kit in the rear you will be limited to what a rear mid travel. Granted I’m a little biased, but I def would not get the tc sua again...but I like to drive fast though.

As far as the front, no issue with LT rearing first and then eventually sell your front after you acquire stuff for your 3.5. Rear tends to cost more and more skills to install so it’s good to get it knocked out first if possible.

Thank you both for the input. When it comes down to any high speed offroading, surprise hits are common and can be dangerous and I think due to my age, maturity level and lack of `whatever that thing is that makes people stick to low speeds` I tend to outdrive my very limited{as im finding out} MT setup.

With that being said, a full LT rear may be my next step.B4E72D82-EF20-48E7-A5CD-9BDE0E8E8A9F.jpg

Yea man what sucked for me was before I got the tc sua no one really had any experience so sad to say I was the guinea pig for the tc sua rear at the time. I don’t regret getting the kit as not many had it that could give any real feedback, but yea man go LT or link that shit.
