Clutch fluid after 175k miles... gross

Was way overdue. It was so easy idk why I put it off for so long. Can't even see through it holding up to the light.

 

I do my clutch and brake fluid every two years. Never looked that bad, but clutch was always the dirtiest.

 

so could you feel any difference?

 

Not sure yet. I just took the truck around the block to make sure everything was okay. (Flushed brake fluid too). I couldn't tell a difference in that short drive.

 

No difference in feel, although it works out to be only about 30K between changes. Just feels better like a clean truck sort of thing. Piece of mind, just like the brake fluid.

 

Okay so yeah, definitely smoother shifting gears now or moving around the gear shifter with the clutch pushed in. Not as much of a notchy feel. seems to be smoother engaging the clutch too, but that's probably placebo. Who knows. Definitely needed to be done tho. I actually didn't have enough brake fluid left to clean it fully, but the lines are much clearer now. Guess I'll flush again in another 100k miles lol

 

Dude! I just hit 175k today finally after a long day out on the trails before winter hits or doesn't
Clutch fluid has never been touched so it's probably gross too hahah
Truck will likely need a new clutch next year depending on the current environment, especially if that release throwout bearing chatter gets any worse

. Yikes!! With need of new tires probably as well next year
