Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Argument from authority is idiotic. Counter point:

I guess you consider road characteristics of a tire/truck combo a lot more when it gets you to work on Monday. I want tires that work in the dirt where the truck goes.

Did you carefully read the article linked, professor? You must not have. If you had you wouldn't have misapplied your instruction in logical fallacies while stumbling into your own appeal to the stone logical failure.

    Over thinking
    Over engineering

Get the tire/wheel combo you like and screw all the theories.

    The end.

sorry for confusion. my tires are 46.5 lbs the rims im looking at are 38lbs. that's 84.5lbs in each corner. seems like a lot. or is that not much of an issue.

that is definitely heavy.... some of the heavier 17's I've seen are in the 31-32lb range with many around 25lb or even lighter. what wheel is it?

I just checked out the vision site... its weird that the different bolt patterns for the same size (17x9) have such different weights... most being around 30lb's... its a nice looking wheel, but damn that's heavy if it actually is 38lb's.

I want 285 70 17s and weight is a concern for me. I think I’ve settled on nitto ridge grapplers. They’re 49 lbs which is pretty light for that size, lighter than the wild peaks.

38lb wheels they must be steel. My 16x8 alu. wheels are less than half of that. As far as tires go yes weight is a big factor. Why deal with the down sides of all the extra weight if you don't need to. The other problem with going to say an E rated tire is getting it to conform even when aired down. Tacoma's really are just not that heavy.

I do not see where they say the wheels are alu. but does mention what wheels they are. If you know they are alu. good for you.

I don't care much about tire weight, but I don't care if it makes my truck slower, it's a pickup truck. I also don't know the difference in MPGs because my truck doesn't tell me, and as they say, "ignorance is bliss". I'm sure the 4.0 gets dismal gas mileage as it is anyways. I just want a certain tread style and the strength of an E rating.
