The only post to mention anything about "cold solder joints" was the post you quoted. I think the poster was just blowing smoke . . .

You should be pissed if you paid $45k for a mid-sized truck. o_O

Wait, I'm confused... so you have a 3rd gen? Did you not test drive it? Did you pay $45K!?!

Maybe semi-fix would be a better word. It's not a one size fits all kind of device.

Cool. Spreading misinformation about a new product. Nice work.

    Why even waste your time?

I did. You are claiming this product has cold solder joints on the early shipments. Which you have no proof.

I like mine and it works flawlessly.

Here's a small challenge for everyone who has the ShiftSense Pro. After driving around your normal routes with it for a few days, or week or two or whatever, go do the same without using it. Just put the shifter in "D" and go about your business. It will really show how lazy the stock tuning is. I accidentally left mine in "D" the other day and couldn't even handle it. D is probably fine for those who really care about their MPG or drive like an old lady. ShiftSense Pro really wakes this thing up.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
My interest in this product was never about minimizing shifting, but rather shifting in a more optimal time. But also, I'd gauge empirical factors such as Engine Load and temperature vs RPM (unless excessive as in the 5 - 6k range). There's no proof that running 2.5k - 3.5k RPM constantly on this engine will increase wear vs. running a lower RPM with more load on the crank due to poor gearing.

There's also no proof, however, the other way around. Time will tell.

I have recently as of this week put on E Load Range tires (265 / 75 / r16) and a 2" OME lift. MPG took a 1.5 - 2MPG hit but honestly, even in D, the truck still drives as it always has. Not inspiring, but not really any worse. However, the LOD is higher at those lower RPMs by about 5 - 7% more now, so the engine is feeling the heavier tires. Higher RPMs and the LOD drops back down.

Try to pedal an 18 speed bike in 18th gear vs 15th gear. There's time where 15th makes you pedal more but it's easier to do.

Unfortunately, this engine is actually pretty powerful once you find it's peak torque. It's just way outside of the range of the transmissions optimal shift pattern from OEM. I agree with whomever said Toyota was lazy. My 2011 Chevy Equinox had an "ECO" mode and it did this same exact stuff. Only difference, I turned off ECO and it would stay off between start ups. I left it off for 75,000 miles and that engine never had an issue. It's a Chevy, however, so it's probably dead somewhere now. I mean it is already 6 years old at this point..

 ... Well despite the chatter I'm excited for mine. Don't really care much for gas savings, just want tolerable shifting so I can hang on to the truck long term and start adding some more expensive mods!

What's the last order # received now anyway!?
