Thank you! I've got a 10' and 12' that I've gone back n' forth on how to carry. Was easy in my Silverado, used TracRac system in bed...unfortunately it doesn't work with the Tacoma factory tonneau rails. Keep us updated.

Here is my setup. I couldn't have them extend off the back since I pull the camper.
    One is a 12' and one is a 14'

Nice setup!! Much nicer Kayaks too.. lol
The way i have it now is no doubt the way to do it. Don't have to mess around trying to thread wing nut on under tracks and with two bars side by side the strength is amazing!! looks cleaner and I can open my moonroof.
The 1st day (pics with yaks on truck) we took em out to test one rack loosened up completely and you could see them moving with each bump in the road.
Another thing we do is put a board (gonna have a piece of aluminum cut) on the rack in the middle to stand on that runs the length from from to back. It made strapping them up super easy.

Im curious about your mounting points for your bow tie downs. Whats the deal with the straps under the hood?
Was contemplating some kind of D ring bolted to where the wipers sit.

I seen complaints on here from others that have had problems, but I had them installed on my Sienna for years without any problems.

Heres pics loaded. Worked PERFECT! super solid.
Space between Kayaks to stand on rack and load in seconds.

For now until I have a custom piece of aluminum 1/4" thick by 12" wide and 37" long that i will drill holes in and be able to mount up top between the racks on the Prinsu using carriage bolts and wing nuts I just used a piece of plywood the same size. Makes loading/unloading and strapping down the yaks soo much easier.

IMG_2985.jpg IMG_2991.jpg IMG_2990.jpg IMG_2987.jpg IMG_2992.jpg FYI, I ordered and installed the Yakima Bedrock system with 66" bars, and my Yakima J-low carriers. Simply won't work on the 5' bed, especially with tonneau cover pegs. You just can't get the bars and rack far enough back. Fuck it. Returned. Just gonna use the bed or my ATV trailer. Not putting a rack on top this time around.

I just got a new 12 foot tandem and a 9 foot solo. Now I need to figure out how to carry them...

I was thinking the roof rack would be the best route forward. (Agree or No?) That allows me to keep my bed cover on the truck.

Is there a functional difference between the racks that mount in the channel and those that wrap into the door frame?

Threw this 10 footer on this past weekend, strapped it down and took in on an 80mph drive. Held up like a champ. I used cheap j racks i bought off of Amazon for 20bucks and mounted them to my cross bars. Strapped down using 4 ratchet straps

I now use a Thule Xsporter Pro bed rack with Vitamin Blue rack pads for my 11' and 12.5' paddle boards (I know not a kayak... but this rack is great for kayaks and canoes as well!). I love it so much more than my previous methods (5' bed with harbor freight bed extender or OEM roof rack).
