Thinking about getting into an X-Runner, but wanted to know what year first got the backup camera in the dash display, not in the rearview mirror? Was it standard, or was it an option?
    Thanks.

OK, guess I'll answer my own question, lol. After much digging, looks like the dash integration of the backup camera was introduced in 2014... just in case anyone else was wondering.

And you can only get 14's in Canada and Hawaii. I just put a 14 tacoma radio in my 05 xrunner tho. Real easy to do. Working on the wiring of the back up camera soon. I have a factory backup camera just have to run the 4 wires.

Congrats! That's a nice upgrade for sure. Comparing the huge dash display for the backup camera in my '14 Dbl Cab to the rear view mirror version in the Sienna van we used to have is like night and day. Especially nice when connecting to a trailer. With the new display, I can put it on the ball every time without any assistance. Hope you publish when you do; I'm sure there will be others wanting to do the same.

I'm new to the forums, new to Tacomas... just picked up an '05 recently. Can you elaborate a bit on the '14 radio features and where you found it? I'm getting ready to replace my stock headunit with aftermarket primarily so I can get phone integration, but support for back-up cam would be great as well. Do they support aux-in, bluetooth audio, etc? Other than FM radio and good ergonomics, that's all I'm looking for.

    thanks,
    Dave

Interested in doing the same, but have a couple questions for you. How can I get a hold of you?
