As she sits today after new tires, wheels, and sliders:

Whats up y'all? I'm Jay and this is my '06 Impulse Red DCSB 4x4. I purchased it in April of 2016 after owning a 1st gen xtra cab for several years. Tacomas are quite capable vehicles, but sometimes you just need to put your own personal spin on things. That's what I'm trying to accomplish.

This trucks going to be my weekend adventure rig. Whether its taking the boat out fishing, or going to the mountains for a couple trails, I'd like to be capable of it. This will be a slow build. I'm doing things as they become practical and I can justify doing them. Why schwifty, you ask? Cause I'm currently hooked on Rick and Morty, thats why!:rofl:

I found the truck on a used car lot, they had just gotten it from auction and was cleaning it up. I'm really not sure what was going on with the fender flares. I'm assuming since it was an SR5 that someone wanted black flares on their silver truck and they swapped around right before auction.

But after color matching, the truck looked pretty sharp.

And when I brought it home a couple days later.

You can't beat a red truck! They clean up so good.

Shortly after I got it, I started making it my own. Decals and Creature comfort stuff first.

Grid-it organizer makes helps keep little stuff from cluttering up the truck.

Pioneer AVH-280BT. Not the top of the line.. but it plays my iPod, it's Bluetooth, and sounds better than the stock head unit when paired with Pioneer component speakers up front, and 2 way coaxials in the back door.

    And then this happened..:frusty:
    QKZi5MzhfswatIx_Q8IUYFdogWvwFO9aA9MB0_hD_03bcb5c070cafcbe46307304e6c25b8bad8e0e13.jpg

Lady tried to get past me to get into a turn lane, and scraped my rear quarter panel and bumper. I know, it doesn't look like much, but c'mon! I've only had the truck about 8 months when this happened. Luckily her insurance accepted full liability and into the body shop she went.

And came out with a nice new addition. As luck would have it, a local member was selling his SOS Offroad rear bumper. I took it off his hands and upgraded. This actually worked out really well for me. I needed a trailer hitch, which is recessed behind the license plate. This will allow me to occasionally tow a boat or a small utility trailer.

A couple pics from the Chestnut Mountain Road run a few months back. Had a blast running it! I think we had 14 Tacos and 2 Jeeps. Unfortunately, due to a previous engagement, I had to turn around and head back when we got to the river crossing.

It really was. I saw a couple friends post it on FB but I ignored it because I was certain it was a prank! It now says on Hulu that it'll be out this summer, so hopefully that means it's more concrete.

Holy crap.. is this thing still alive? Yeah, it's been neglected, but life gets in the way sometimes. New job has taken some adjusting to get used to.

Went up to Horsepasture Road in the Jocasseee Gorges area of South Carolina with 2 guys from the SC BS and gossip thread. It was my first time on HPR, and had an absolute blast driving through it. Its nothing technical or really off-camber.. but sometimes its just nice to get lost in the woods and enjoy the scenery. Here's a couple pics I snapped with my cell phone camera, apologies for anything poor quality. Credit goes to @EricL for the first 2 pics, thanks again!
