03 4runner- Bad steering rack?

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
    I have a 03 with 145k on it. The steering has recently gotten very "heavy". Almost feels as if there is no power steering. No noise out of the pump or leaking fluid. None of the normal signs that the pump is going bad, not low on fluid. Anyone have any input?
