not new to shooting, new to ar-15's though. Just bought an F1 firearms and really can't find any information on them at all online. Anyone here have any experience with them? Seems like a decent rifle so far except for one thing that kind of pissed me off and will be having the shop I bought it at take a look...the forward assist popped out and I didn't realize it. Luckily a friend spotted it on the ground (blended in with everything).

They are pretty hot in the 3Gun community. It's a good rifle, well built. Should have very good accuracy out of the box.

Never heard of it and I know most of them, cheap or expensive.

Expensive. I know several of their sponsored shooters and have several friends that shoot them. Really light weight, very good barrels, unique look. A lot of people say they will foul up because of all the openings and I can verify that isn't the case seeing them used in adverse conditions.

I've put around 700 rounds through it and it's a blast! (Pun intended). I've only shot one AR in the past and kind of bought this out of the blue to add to the collection.

I have several F1 parts in my AR and I am happy with the quality and fit.

Sucks that your FA popped out on your new rifle, but should be an easy fix. From the pic, the pin capturing the FA is coming out the bottom. Looks like you just have to insert the FA & spring and tap the pin back in with a small hammer and punch.
I've found putting a little lube on the pin helps make it easier to drive it in.

If you didn't recover the spring, give F1 a call and if their a reputable company they should send you one for free.

I ordered an Ar pistol from them about a month ago. From what I've been seeing and reading, they are starting to release a lot more ar parts and not just match set chassis. You'll be able to buy more uppers, lowers, barrels, BCG's, and guards for custom builds. The different coatings are the big part in the operation of their guns.
