solid axel swap

How much does it usually cost to upgrade to a solid front axel on a second gen Tacoma?

 

Depends on parts choices, labor costs, etc.

Some guys do it for cheapish with salvage parts and their own sweat and blood. Others spend $20k?

I think this is one of those things where, "if you have to ask, you can't afford it". As T4RFTMFW mentioned above, there will be a huge difference between the cost of you and your buddies doing all the teardown, welding and fabrication, vs. driving it into a shop and saying, "Here's my Mastercard. Call me when it's done".

It will take months to years to research. It will take months to years to gather all the parts. It will take months to years to dial everything in right. And it'll take months to years worth of paychecks. Gooood luck.

 

Not even worth the trouble,better too sell you truck and buy an older truck.

 

doing second hand, finding the best deals, doing all the work yourself, under 2k. paying a shop? lol. as said above, 10-20k

 

And one memorable outing to the hammers to fuck it all up.

 

I could tell you being an average fella with a little boy, it's been 7 years of research and buying parts. I stopped calculating the money I've spent.

 

Its the little parts that add up really quick.
