I might have mentioned this already, but a clutch is a MUST with the URD 2tr-fe supercharger kit. Clutch and URD short shifter kit have made the truck super fun to drive now!
    Thanks URD!

have you driven a stock v6? im curious how the forced 4cyl compares to the stock v6's. From what ive read, it seems like they're a little quicker than the stock 6 cyls

I have not, but would love to. I was really surprised how responsive the 2tr-fe is to boost. I get quite the attention when an onlooker hears the BOV go off. I guess these boosted 4 bangers are extremely rare.

The URD kit comes with a piggy-back ECU which you tap into the OEM ECU wiring harness. It's pre-loaded with a map which covers 91-93oct fuel. The kit also comes with a fuel pump upgrade.
I have an AEM 30-4900 Wideband Failsafe Gauge which reads boost and allows me to log AFR's. They seem to be good, but I haven't logged any yet, thanks for reminding me to do that.

Thanks. So are you running open loop 100% of the time? Also, do you have that gauge hooked to a narrow band o2?

I'm not sure. Gadget from URD is the wiz who loads the map into the ECU and knows exactly how the kit runs. It operates like stock, it really does. The gauge is power wire, ground wire, and I welded an o2 bung on the exhaust as the kit comes with the o2 sensor.

Thanks. Sorry for all the questions, but I have been really interested in this kit but question how the fms is setup. So you are running 2 o2 sensors now? one for the stock ecu and one just for the gauge? that's really strange. if this was setup to mirror stock, you wouldn't have 2 o2s...i would think you'd replace your narrowband with a wideband, and that would hook into both the ecu and the gauge. when you mentioned "maps", that tells me youre running in open loop vs closed, unless the map is only for WOT. Esenntially to mirror the stock setup you'd want to use a wideband o2 in closed loop mode to moderate the a/f ratios. I don't see how that is happening here, but could be wrong. Does this system use a 5th injector, or your stock injectors? Any idea what your duty cycle is at full boost? These are important things you might want to know about, in case you need to tune or adjust anything and gadgets not around. Maybe he can chime in here, if he reads this.

Anyway, dont mean to blast you with all these questions, just curious. Thanks again, have fun!

Np, glad I can help anyway I can. Let clear a few things up. The truck still runs both stock O2 sensors. A third O2 sensor has been added to the exhaust stream to support the AEM wideband individually. Included in the kit is a MAP-ECU3 AFR Calibrator Module which probably helps the ECU with all the parameters your speaking of. YES, the truck does run a fifth injector. The main MAPECU (which comes with the kit) has a boost feed which all ties in to make this whole system work. Its all detailed in the kit, very thorough wiring guide included. Hope this helps.

Do you mind if I ask which shop did the install work?
Also, any first impressions on how it affected gas mileage?

Truck looks awesome, can't wait for it's Smoking Tire episode.

Yeah, np. HG Performance here in San Diego did the install. Master tech Alain Alba has done many supercharger kits on various platforms and he was up for the challenge to do the URD kit. Installation went perfect, very meticulous work especially with the wiring. With regards to the fuel mileage, it's hard to gauge now because the kit advises you not to go below 1/4 tank. before i would run the truck till the gas light went on. However, it dose feel the same to me.

Filming for the "One take" episode is this Tuesday (30 May) ;) Thanks!

Finished filming the episode of "The Smoking Tire" yesterday. Video will not be released till several months from now. Matt is not a big
fan of trucks, but he was impressed with this little supercharged 4-banger. Loads of fun!

Sweet pictures from the canyon. Is the suspension all stock? I imagine a rear sway bar would help on a twisty road.

Thanks. Actually it takes the twisties pretty well for being a truck, you will see in the video. Front has Bilstein 4600, rear QA1 adjustables. Rear also has an X-brace taken from an Xrunner that I modified by having some brackets welded to fit. No rear sway bar

Here is a little sneak peak of another video shoot I did with another popular YouTube channel. Truck will be featured on "The Smoking Tire" as well as
"Cars OnBoard". Very thankful for these opportunities. Have to admit the URD Supercharger Kit sounds amazing! Sorry for the video, should have turned my phone sideways "fail"

I was invited out by another popular YouTube channel to do some filming of the truck, here is that video. "The Smoking Tire" episode with Matt Farah will not be out for several months. The truck has been getting a lot of love, thanks to everyone who has supported me through this project!

Thanks for posting a video, Ozzie. Hard to guess at how things are in real life from spec sheets and static pictures.
