run an add-a-circuit into an ignition switched circuit in your in-dash fuse panel. Run that 12V (Switched) to the N/O contact on your switch. Find the circuit for your dash lights and add-a-circuit to power the LED on your switch.

Ground to something under the dash.

Run the signal wire through the firewall grommet right by the drivers feet.

Run the signal anywhere you want to put a relay and your compressor. Hook it up to the coil, ground the coil, and put the positive power from your compressor on the N/O contact on the relay.

Using an add-a-circuit will provide you with the ~10mA for the LED and ~30mA for the coil. It won't effect anything and you can use a .5a fuse.

Depending on your compressor you'll need a fuse inline with that rated appropriately. I'd even suggest getting a blue-sea-systems waterproof circuit breaker so if it trips due to heat you can reset it and not get stuck somewhere.

 

I think you missed a big part of the thread where the OP doesn't want to use add-a-circuit fuse taps.

Thanks, but I'm pretty good with wiring stuff up. I just need one little wire to tap into Don't care about circuit breaker. I'll have spare fuses. And I wouldn't really be stuck. If need be I'd just drive on low PSI to the nearest gas station.

Watching a few threads along with this one collecting valuable info until I manage to get the time to install
Slime pump actually works great, use it for my dual sport rides, tops off front and rear on 4 to 6 motorcycles when we get back to pavement with no issues
I'm sure it would take a while to fill even 1 truck tire and may melt or even burst into flames before you get to the 4th truck tire lol

But I threw it into my truck anyways just in case I might need it before I finish the ARB hook up

Anyways seems to be a slightly better temporary backup option for an old guy like me than a hand bicycle pump

 

Why not just tap into the ignition wire from the back of the radio? I've used it for my light bar and amps. Plus the radio is easy to remove.

 

Doesn't seem very easy to get to. There must be a wire nearby the switches that will work.

Anyone know where a accessory power source is to the left of the steering wheel?
I’m trying to install a double USB port for a phone charger on the left side.

 

On that RED wire could I also connect my amp’s “remote” wire to it for power on supply? If so would the Amp remain on when the truck is off ? I similarly need a simple power on source when car is in accessory mode and with ignition on.
