If you scroll to bottom of this page there is Toyota one listed for $4.50 and the TYC for $3.99.........right there for all to see. The pricing was not the sarcasm in my post.

yes I did and it was blank Amazon page. I don't believe anything, even that you are thinking that I am serious about any of this cabin air filter sassafras. Buy one and use one you like. Who really fuckin cares which one anyone else uses or which one anyone thinks is the end all best one? Any of them are better than none...argue that.

Its amazing how dealerships prey on some people. My wife called me from the honda dealership once, said she needed air and cabin filters, which she did, and they would charge $75 in labor because the filters were really hard to get to. I said, buy them and bring them home. 5 minutes later, both installed.

by the way, i like the fram cabin filter

Once out from behind firewall at work, it shows $15.99 which makes it little less than half of what I paid for the K&N electrostatic one so all this horseshit about never getting your money's worth vs oem just that...a bunch of horseshit. Clean mine 3 times and oem is more expensive. Pick your poison, spend as you see fit.

No they charge to go get the new one for you. Stupid because they have to put the old one back in anyway when you say you don't want them to change it.

My dealer used to change them for the price of the filter. Then the Ford dealership bought out the Toyota one and the price went to $50 to change it.

I went with a K&N washable cabin filter and haven't looked back.

Opinions above about what is the best cabin air filter. Curious if anyone has noticed better air flow using one brand vs. the other?

wont say its the best but based on # of positive reviews here and Amazon etc i am going to try the Champion CCF7765
it was rated just as good as the OEM and WIX filters (last one i tried) but beats them in price $8.73
To me the real purpose and why i use them is to keep all that crud from going downstream in the HVAC system and clogging things up rather that actually improving interior air quality. I have never seen any definitive test where they actually test airflow or particle removal.

Great thread. Learned a lot. A very old post here said there is no benefit to a cabin air filter that has a charcoal layer due to high flow of air not being able to go through the charcoal itself and that there is no proof charcoal does any good. Let me say that that is in error. The charcoal traps extremely small particles by way of their hitting the surface of the activated charcoal and getting trapped in the extremely small pores.
Thus a CAF with charcoal does make a difference. That’s not just my opinion, it’s a proven fact by scientific research by the National Institutes of Health. They tested diesel emissions passing through various CAFs. See link below.
Unfortunately, the filter companies understandably did not let their brands be known to the researchers. So all we can say is that filters w activated charcoal are much better than those without it. So you do get what you pay for.
