I put this together for the novices out there. However, I am also featuring a more heavy duty half inch PVC sink trap instead of the thinner standard traps that most people have. This helps to prevent future leaks and makes cleaning out the trap easier too. I hope you like the videos and please subscribe. I will be showing you how to remove scratches in your Tacoma soon :)

WTF did they cut that old sink downspout with? A vaguely pointy rock?

Also, what's that black drain pipe coming in from?

any ideas on how to repair a leaking shower drain trap that has been glued together, the leak is coming out of where the joints are glued together on the trap itself.

I agree, but if that's the case then it's a kitchen sink, and I want to know why he didn't install a cleanout trap, lol.

ok will try to answer all of the questions...
    1. yes the black hose is from the dishwasher.
    2. yes that old sink downspout looks to have been cut with a jagged rock! the bottom of that pipe serves no purpose otherwise I would have replaced it. You know when you buy a home there is all kinds of crap that you find. No need to replace it since it just sits inside of the larger PVC
    3. I do not need to install a cleanout trap with this PVC version. It unscrews in 30 seconds and you just dump everything that is in the elbow.
    4. Scottalot.... wrong thread? lol

Meh. I prefer the version with the large trap (drum trap, I think it's called?) and screw off bottom; more clog resistant. Just personal preference after living with my gf for so long (she tends to dump EVERYTHING into the sink :frusty: )

yeah I get that. To each his own and I suppose there is no true right or wrong. Just like Tacoma building everyone has their preference.
For me the trap cleanouts are a little small and also that little drop down itself in the cleanout is a spot where the buildup of debris can actually occur and create a clog.

Meanwhile, is that Vince Wilfork in your GIF?

It will have to be cut out and replaced with a new one.

if a fitting isn't seated properly and ends up leaking, the only way to correctly repair it would replacing the whole trap.

Or you can use that crazy-ass tape stuff that some guy uses to tape a boat back together after he saws it in half...

Correctly, Schmorrectly. If people were interested in that, they'd never sell any of that tape crap. :p

ok I have a story for you. Giants fan here (relax, I also like and respect the Pats organization, Bill, Tom, Kraft... all of them). After one of the Superbowls vs the Pats, one of the pre-season games at the Meadowlands was against the Pats. They play each other every year. I always put my pre-season tickets up for sale. The game vs the Pats sold on StubHub. Back then, all of the tickets were mailed via Fed Ex and you do not know who bought your tickets until you print off the shipping label. So, when it was time to ship the Pats tickets, the person I was shipping them to was Bianca Wilfork.... Vince's wife. Made sense since my seats are right behind the visitor bench.

So, I am preparing the Fed Ex envelope and I put the tickets in there and was ready to seal the envelope and I stopped myself. I said...I cannot just send the tickets when I have this opportunity to send more. So, I went online and printed off all of the pictures of the Giants winning the game and holding the Lombardi trophy. Probably 25+ pages and put it in the envelope with the tickets and sent it all off to his house. Vince is a great guy but I could not pass on this opportunity to have some fun with him....harmless of course.

It was nice to see a bullsh*t miracle catch go our way in a Superbowl for a change this past year.

I think the Pats have had plenty of success... one would also say that the ridiculous pass call (instead of running with Lynch) at the goal line by the Seahawks delivered a championship to the Pats too. Things happen... it is part of the game. Do you think Tom Brady knows how to replace a sink trap? LOL
