Has anyone tried to install or run an AC outlet inside the cabin of the Tacoma 3rd gen? I've been looking for a "how to" guide but I can't find anything. I was hoping it is easy since we already have the in bed outlet.

It seems like really bad idea to not include an AC outlet inside the cabin since you can only use the in bed outlet while ignition is on.

If somebody knows of any guide, please let me know.

    Thanks!

I've got a small one that plugs into the lighter socket. Still need the key on unless you mod the socket to power all the time. I guess Toyota doesn't want you to run your battery down.

I'm sure there's a write up on it.

    Try searching Ac outlet.

I remember when the Truck came out. I saw a interview with Mike Sweers. He said most customers prefered to have the plug in the bed rather then the cab. But like others said. Buy a invertor.

I tapped into the output wires on the inverter using positaps. I recall those wires being much smaller than you would expect them to be.

I installed a 350W inverter in the panel behind my armrest- the panel back there comes off easy. I took apart the inverter to extend the power outlet and the switch. Used the dremmel to put the switch inside the armrest Small square hole and used the dremmel to cut out the plug shape into the back panel of the arm rest towards the back seats. drilled a few holes in the armrest next to the seat that lined up with where the fan was in the inverter and used some epoxy to attach the inverter in place... Pics would have made this a whole lot better.. but use your imagination it really isn't that hard.. oh and I ran a 30A add a fuse and wire to switched power to power the whole deal :)
