That's gonna turn into way more then $5k. Haha but I agree, that's a lot of money for the return. Now if he was doing a URD kit and making 450whp+ then that money makes sense. Do a flex fuel kit and e85 and I'm sure 600whp is a reality.

not at all. idk what kinda of fuel pump is in a 4.0 v6 so that was going to be my starting point for info collection (which might I add....everyone jumped on a tangent subject and supplied no answer haha). I don't think the magnuson kit comes with a 7th injector, it is just highly encouraged---> BUT only if you get a smaller pulley then what comes with the kit (like the URD pulley 2.85 I think). And, if you took the time to read and learn, you would see what the Boot-a-Pump does. Its all about the AMPs it provides to the pump, increasing the output of the pump without upgrading the pump, which could cost much more than the boost-a-pump, with great results. Kenne Bell is a highly respected company, just doesn't do Toyota stuff so "we" never hear much a bout them. I also agree that the power added isn't enough to necessarily need a larger fuel pump, BUT I have to do my research to know what all is required before I start a project of course haha

Is this suggesting that the Tacoma comes with a Walbro 255 lph pump? If so, then it would be plenty and a great pump to have. heard nothing but good things about Walbro. Its not an inline pump (if Im thinking what you're thinking an in-line pump is).

Also, if you met this guy, you would not consider him an idiot nor would I consult him on his near lifetime of building engines and upgrading street cars (corvettes, mustangs, evo's, Camaros, challengers, wrx's. he might have owned a Supra at one time also). I think you would actually get along quite well with him. Hes also been flying apaches his entire career.

I understand completely and would agree...if a v8 swap would truly net no more than 5k haha. Ive done some research on that option already and its well more than double for time and resources (in my case...where I have no other vehicle to use for the months it would take for me to do that given my work schedule and life events haha). I do love the idea though.

I think you missed my point or I was unclear, so I'll try again.

I did go back and look into the Boost-a-pump thing. It's a DC voltage amplifier, so all it is going to do is overdrive the stock fuel pump by providing higher than stock voltages to the pump itself to make it spin faster. Retail looks to be around $280. It seems to me to be a really odd band-aid for an easily solved problem. For over $100 less, you can do it correctly by replacing the fuel pump with a better unit AND adding an in-line fuel filter that is easily replaceable. http://urdusa.com/store/Fuel-Upgrad...uel-Pump/Filter-Upgrade-Kit/product_info.html I guess I just don't understand the benefit of overdriving the stock fuel pump instead of simply replacing it with a unit that has a higher output. If you're still concerned about the fuel pump operating effectively, you can always rewire it with 12ga wire running directly to the pump so that you know it's getting as little voltage drop as possible.

The stock pump in a Tacoma is definitely not a Walbro 255lph. As far as what the output of the stock fuel pump is, I have no idea. The guy to talk to would be Gadget at URD. He's seen it and done it with supercharging these trucks, and is probably the person you need to build a relationship with to answer any questions you have about specifics.

PS, the guy was only an idiot if he was suggesting using an in-line secondary fuel pump. ;) I just want to make sure you're getting the best, correct advice for something where you'll potentially be spending thousands of dollars on your truck. I know you like to research multiple resources to see what all lines up, so hopefully this helped.

you're too sweet ;) haha. I gotcha. I was comparing prices too saw the pump was like 180 I thought and the Walbro fuel pumps were around 280+$.

I still cant make up my mind though on a S/C. I dont know if nearly 5k is worth only the 74ish hp. I will say the URD Mk3 stage 1 says like 108 hp gain BUT its also like 750$ more. I'm stuck on what I want to do. Although, IF I have a chance to do it, now would be it with the deployment and all.

And I always appreciate everyones input and take no offense to any of it. If I got butt hurt over it, I wouldnt ask you guys. I value yalls opinion.
