I'm most likely going to run a 255 series too. The tires are just so much cheaper!! Plus @TacoFMS said he tried to run an aggressive 285 and the walls were rubbing the UCA.

Had a fun filled day working on the new truck, with a few more days worth of work ahead of me.
    IMG_0793.jpg
    Here's all I did today:

    • Used an angle grinder with flap disc to clean up the tow hook (thanks again DrFunker!!!) and then made a mini paint booth and painted it red.
      • I was very thankful DrFunker included his bolts because mine were in there pretty good. Took me 15 minutes to get them out with a breaker bar. Probably going to invest in an air compressor and impact wrench tomorrow.
    IMG_0794.jpg
    IMG_0795.jpg
    IMG_0803.jpg
    • Installed TRD Shift knob and attempted to fold back the boot for a cleaner look. This didn't work out so well, and this is the best I could do. It's just electrical tape, but I'm going to Hoem Depot tomorrow and going to see if there's a black rubber sleeve I can put over it.
    IMG_0796.jpg
    IMG_0797.jpg
    IMG_0798.jpg
    • Changed the air filter (it was pretty bad)
    • Used half a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank and the other half in the vacuum line coming off the brake/clutch master cylinder. Blew out a bunch of white smoke and seems to run a little better now.
    • Added cabin air filter (never had one)
    • Changed the oil and switched to synthetic. The old filter was on there tight as SHIT. Had to hammer a screwdriver through to get enough leverage. Replaced with an OEM.
    IMG_0799.jpg
    • Mounted the RAM system. This was also a BITCH. Everything has such tight tolerances it made lining it up a PITA. Rock solid once mounted though. Was getting too frustrated with the other side so I'll tackle that later.
    IMG_0801.jpg
    • While I had the radio apart I added the Blue Tooth module to the GTA car kit. Tested it on the way to Chipotle and it worked flawlessly.
    IMG_0802.jpg
I think that was it for today. Here's my list for tomorrow.
    • Change fluid in both diffs, transfer case and transmission and replace with Redline MT 90.
    • BHLM (picked up a can of Krylon Fusion for $0.98 from Advanced Auto Parts) and have Morimoto Glue to reseal it.
    • Change spark plugs (excited to see if it's ever been done before)

A productive day for sure  I would clean or better yet purchase a new MAF sensor. New there around 140.00. I bet you see a big difference in how it runs. If you remove it to clean it I recommend having a OEM O ring for the sensor on hand to replace the old one.

    What's in the ARB box?

Good tip! I'll keep that one in mind. That's a snatch strap in there, and I have a shackle receiver for the hitch and now the hook for the front. I at least want the very basics in recovery gear. Already have an air compressor and going to pick up a shovel tomorrow. Gonna keep it all organized in that black tote.

This is good info. I forgot to mention the Throttle Body cleaning. It covers the MAF also.

Amsoil offers these straw retainers, witch comes in handy when cleaning the Throttle Body.

Another project added to the list!! That seems like a simple and cheap way help performance and maintenance. Might as well do it since I'm going through all the trouble of this other maintenance. Plus the air box will be off tomorrow for the spark plugs. Thanks!

You did great! I use the pneumatic impact pretty often when working on the truck, it prevent smashing my fists on a part or the garage floor when the bolt crack loose under a ratchet lol! But sometimes the impact is a little too big to fit where I need it. Your cordless one should be fine for a bunch of work! You'll see you'll always find a way to use it !

Yeah I'm pretty excited to put it to use!! It'll help so much with the rusty bolts on here. Reading the reviews this thing will handle it with ease.

Just finished changing my spark plugs, and I confirmed my suspicions. They have never been changed in 168k miles!! They were really rough, but the truck seems to be running great. Going to go pick up some more tools as well as some MAF and throttle body cleaner.

Made another parts and tools run. I don't necessarily NEED all of these things, but it's hard when you're walking down the aisles of harbor freight and seeing how cheap each individual thing is.

Good Morning @EatSleepTacos ! Seems that you got an early jump on todays work. Post up pics. BTW my 12's with 39.5k miles spark plugs looked just as rough as yours :(

Morning! I wanted to get started while it was cool out! Plus I have a lot to get done today. That makes me feel a little better about the plugs. Truck seems to be running great, and am curious to see how much cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body will do.
