Thanks for the info! That's pretty much what I've been seeing in my research as well. We may have to stick to fire roads if we don't want to drive to Payson or Sedona.

Or stick to the valley with tons of options, just getting hot.

Was just at the shop talking about finally actually replacing my bike that got stolen.

We have a travel trailer up at Roosevelt, so we head up there quite a bit and like the change of mountain biking over road cycling when we aren't at home. We were just hoping for options to get some miles in and enjoy some scenery when there. Thanks for the heads up! What are you looking at getting?

Yeah, not much riding out that way. Superior has a master plan in the works to build quite a trail network but that will take several years to be realized. In the meantime, Hawes trail system in east Mesa is pretty fun and you can connect that to wild horse trial which will tie you in to K trail and Usery mountain. Most of the best riding in the Valley is at South Mountain or Phoenix Mountain Preserve.

Pivot Les 27.5+ is at the top of the list right now.

    Definitely hardtail 1x
    Carbon or Steel
    27.5+

Hard to go wrong with almost anything on the market that fits that criteria.

    Thanks!

Looks like a nice bike! We are both on 29ers, but not doing much just yet to properly utilize them. Once she gets more comfortable (she's a road cyclist), we will start doing harder trails.

I had thousands of miles on my 29er. Less time and injuries stacking up, so hoping for a more stable slower ride.

I had LOTS of help from Mike (@AZeyeTIE)... but that was the cost of him staying in my rolling hotel!

It was an awesome place, HOWEVER I really want to do it 2 overnights, so the 2nd day could be just chilling, hiking, and enjoying. I'm ready to go A N Y T I M E!!!!

@Oppositeboy say the word, I have a Spare room! LOL

Here are a few shots, not all are 4x4 pics, but the 4x4 got me there so I still consider it offroading photos.

Hit up the rim this last weekend for a few days. It's an awesome drive if anyone is looking for a great trip I recommend it.

    20170707_162025.jpg

There are a bunch of lakes up there too.

    20170707_120026.jpg
    20170706_141839.jpg

There were some great spots to really haul out there but it's on a pretty tight, windy road so I had to watch myself.

Camping in full long travel is a biatch
    20170706_134804.jpg
I'm hoping to get up there again this summer to explore more. I wouldn't have found out about the rim road trails or fr300 without you guys so thanks for posting up about it!
