I am planning on purchasing a Rough County 6 inch suspension lift for a 2017 Tacoma at a very good price from a buddy of mine brand new for $800, I have read that the rear shocks that come w/ RC lifts are horrible and you get about a year and a half out of them. I am planning on using Fox 2.0 rear shocks instead. The front of the lift uses a 6 inch spacer that sits on top of the factory strut. I also found a pair of Fox 2.0 coilovers for my truck that have no height added to them and are designed to pretty much replace the factory strut and still sit at factory height. My question is, could I install those coil overs and still use the RC 6 inch spacer on top of it without any issues? I don't see why not since the coil overs are at factory height anyways and would still manage to get 6 inches of lift in the front from the spacer. I would rather spend the $850 on Fox coil overs with the RC spacer instead of $1700 for the 6 inch reservoir shocks, especially if I'm getting all of the drop brackets and aftermarket suspension components for $800. I don't take my truck off roading and the idea of replacing the shocks with Fox 2.0's is so I can get a more comfortable ride out of the lift. Im just mainly curious if this set up would work or be ideal, I have always heard about people mixing and matching their lift kits. Thanks.

Good idea, I've done that too with my FJ. First Bilstein 5100 and then updated them to FOX 2.5/2.0. The coilovers are now 3" longer than the normal extended ones and installed without the top strut spacers.

Never installed the shocks and springs which came in the kit.
