I had heard that. I figure I'll do that for several years for buffalo, pronghorn and bighorn until I can actually afford the price of the tags and take enough time off to really devote to the hunts. I've been trying to read the game and fish website but it's a bit too much like studying for me. Thanks for the info guys

Honestly if you aren't ready for a tag, just put in bonus points. You can put in for a tag with their new "protection insurance" that if you get drawn and can't go they won't charge you the full $$$ but still. Bonus points FTMFW

Left over elk tags are available. I'm hoping for some cow tags in 4A!

Anyone ever go for small game around flagstaff? (Squirrels/cottontail) around 7w?6b?6a?

Also, been reading up on waterfowl opportunities around flag and wondering if anyone can shed a little light on that?

Looking for forward to next season :hattip:

I haven't been squirreling in many many moons, but I have heard of folks waterfowling up around lake mary and mormon lake. I've personally never tried it, I'm usually up north in the white mountains early in the season and then work my way down as the season goes on...

Waterfowling in AZ is hit or miss.. Just depends where the water is and how many dickweeds are hunting the same spot you are... Some of my best duck hunting has been up in the white mountains. roosevelt lake isn't bad either if you can get them to work in. Otherwise the lower Gila near robbins butte is good too if there is water.

    Congrats to your wife!
I got my wife in to deer hunting in 2011/12 season and last year she put in for a moose draw and drew a tag, she also got her moose! So shes one up on me on that, I have yet to shoot a nice bull elk but its on my bucket list.

36b has some good deer. I think the traffic is down what it used to be in the 2000-2005 time frame.

They still give out quite a few tags , but always ,left overs for those units.

    Good glassing country for sure.

I put in for 36B as my second choice, 24B as my first choice. 24B is close to my house, but kind of hope I draw 36B because it is an amazing hunt. I am probably gonna backpack in and set up a spike camp this year regardless of which unit I draw. 36B last I checked was a 99% draw success rate.

36B has some great areas. Lots of over growth makes it a little hard to glass but there is no shortage of glassing areas. "Foot traffic" has died down quite a bit, large presence of BP in the area is helping with that.

    Good luck on the draws!!
