Just got in the truck and confirmed that passenger power window doesn't work from driver's side or passenger's side. Do I just need to clean the connection on the passenger's side????

Just making sure before I drop $300 on a new OEM power window actuator.

Well this stuff was just delivered...

Anyone know a good way to break in front gears with add hubs?

I've looked online which yields multiple different results..:notsure::popcorn:

Wouldn't hurt to do both. But go and double check you don't have the window lock on either ;)

Did yours completely stop or was it intermittent?
My passenger front window will usually roll down fine but will only roll up a few inches at a time with a gap between when it will roll up, I think it may be internal friction rather than electrical though.

Mine was slowly getting worse and worse until I went on a mild trail and after that it wouldn't go up. But after cleaning the switches it's worked fine since

I spoke to ECGS on this and they said the front kind of breaks in naturally with the rear. Since the left CV is technically always spinning the ring gear, it's breaking in at the same time as your rear. Even still, I was about to get 40 miles on my front diff in 4 high as well.

Just because the CV is spinning, doesn't mean the ring gear is spinning. It would just spin the spider gears.

I did 3 heat cycles on dirt roads in 4wd, changed the oil, and then used 4wd as much as possible for the next several hundred miles. I tossed it in 4wd on any straight section of road, or dirt road.

Nice. I'll order that! It fits the smittybuilt for sure?

I was told no need to change the front since the 4x4 isn't engaged?? I did swap the fluid in the rear at 500 miles

Exactly what I plan on doing, any straight road not at a high speed is going to 4WD haha

Fuck you're right, it's the spiders that spin. Hence why I needed to cut that CV so my spiders wouldn't spin which is what I had busted for a year lol. Brain fart. 3 heat cycles meaning driving for 20 mins and then fully cooling before driving again?

Heat cycles of 15-20 min each with 20-25 min cool down?

Ecgs says break in period of 500 miles on their website then gear oil change with no more than driving for 50 miles at a time... this is gonna take a bit

Yep. Get a laser heat gun if you want to be exact. Rear is more important and will heat up more. Will get to 180° or more when they're new. I wouldn't go over that too terribly much.

I would stay away from speeds over 65mph for any duration in the first 500 miles. Too easy to over heat a new set of gears.

like the others have said, it's just the spiders spinning.
Plus, unless the driveshaft is actively engaged, you're only breaking in the "coast" side of the gears, not the "drive" side.
Like that bitch in 4x4 and simply drive some nice gravel/dirt roads for a few hundred miles.

I know... I've already put this off for another 1.5 weeks cause I'm going on trips.... gonna have a lot of pointless driving to do and a lot of side of the road waiting etc
