I've been wanting to do a trailer for a while now and finally got a chance. I'm pretty excited to get to use it.

That is a good size trailer for camping. What kind of trailer is that?

I've run a Valterra abs tank for two years now. They come in different sizes, are inexpensive you can drill out the ports where you want to attach fittings to and add the fill port wherever you want it. It's held up to a LOT of off-road without an issue.

Good to know! I put all the stuff for that kit into the cubby and then waterproofed the cubby. So far, it has withstood driving in the rain and what not. I havent taken it offroad yet in the wet but I think it should hold up. This site rocks... I bought the pressure kit and the waterproof kit from folks on this site :)

I either run my 65 gallon TSC tank in the front of my bed. Or 4 of the square aqua-trainers you can get at Cabela's or Amazon. All depends where I am going and how long I am staying. A 7 day trip 60+ miles down Padre Island to the jetty with 4 people we will use about 55 gallons of water so the big tank comes in handy.

These fit 4 wide in the front of a short bed. They also are just about the same dimensions as my VP fuel jugs. Some times I run 2 of each across the front of the bed & Some times 4 of each.

This one fits across the front of a short bed really well.

Yes it is a load that is why I keep it as low as possible in the truck and as far forward as possible. Centering the weight helps out.

We really only use it when we take our two trips a year to North Padre. When we get there we hit the beach and drive till the sand conditions won't let us go any further. I always try to get to the jetty at the pass. I don't ever travel on the highway with the tank full. I typically have about 15-20 gallons in it just to keep it in place in the bed. There is a RV dump station in the National Park with potable water for filling holding tanks so I fill it up there and then hit the beach. Not having to ration the water as much really is great. Added bonus is that it keeps the wife super happy that she can take a shower or two a day. I also run a mist system off of the tank during the day time to keep the wife happy. Happy wife happy life.

Plenty of water, shade, portable AC unit in the RTT, good food, a cellular booster for her Face booking and tunes on the radio keeps this smile on her face. If she is having a good time then so can I.IMG_3484.jpg

Kids are grown now and I kind enjoy watching her run around on the beach so I'm game for her to go. I still:burnrubber: with momma riding shotgun screaming "hell yeah!"

After our mishap last trip out with the flash flood and untimely river extraction I hatched up a plan to keep my truck free of being used as base camp. Trailer build started today!

Thanks for the help earlier, I scored the aqua tainers and they fit neatly into the corners of the bed. Ratchet strap them down and it's set. I like how the cap has the faucet that screws in to each side. I'll leave it out when needed and run my intake line from the pump into that hole.
