Just a heads up to anyone looking at the Pioneer vs the Kenwood units: Get the Kenwood.
Faster, more user friendly, 100% better sound... It is night and day better than the Pioneer.

So far I cannot complain. I have Kenwood in my corvette. I went with the pioneer 8200 in my tacoma because the Kenwood's were on back order. I did not want to wait. So far I have been happy with my Pioneer.

I'm glad you're having a better experience than I did!

Sorry, your having issues. It's odd how some people have issues with the unit and some don't. I have heard the same thing with Kenwood. But I know how you feel wants you have a problem with one you don't want that same brand.

I had an early Pioneer nav unit in my '06 Tacoma, and never had an issue. It was great, which is why I initially chose the 8200nex. I'm sure it was likely just that unit, and not a problem with all of them, but after everything was said and done, I'm glad I swapped over to the Kenwood.

Yeah, I wanted the Kenwood before the pioneer. Just did not want to put off my install with my installer. I'm happy with the pioneer. GPS. It's just different with the Kenwood Garmin gps.

I just switched from a pioneer 4200nex to a Kenwood ddx9903 and I'm glad I did. The 4200 might have been defective but it was always slow doing anything. The volume would take a few seconds to change, the home screen, switching apps, CarPlay...all really slow.

The Kenwood I've only had for a day but I already love it. Easier to use, much better screen, and fast. No input lag and everything is fast. I miss the pioneer auto eq but other than that I'm glad I switched.

My old pioneer was great, I wonder if they've gone downhill or if I just had a bad unit?
