    IMG_2680.jpg So I picked up a tacoma, 06 4cy auto ext cab.

Airbag light was on, horn and cruise didnt work, luckily that google search lead me right to you.

Bought a new clock spring, put it in, horn and cruise work now, but the airbag light is still on + more.

When I replaced the clock spring, the new one didnt have a spot for one of the plugs. I assumed it was for the steering wheel controls that mine doesnt have and maybe the previous owner had used a clock spring for the one with sw controls since the wires were there. Possibly prewire for sw control models? Any help would be appeiciated....

So your truck does not have steering wheel controls? If there's an unused plug floating around, that's likely your culprit since that's the only variable that's changed.

    Yep, no sw controls
I ordered the part number listed in write up, the 84306-04080, is that the wrong one?
Its a pretty beefy plug too, was either gray or white, went into the back of the clock spring. The new one was completely missing that section where it went.

That's extremely odd. If you feel like troubleshooting, you could plug back in your old clock spring to verify that the loose plug is for sure causing the extra lights, then go from there.

That was my first thought the next day, unfortunately I cleaned the shop right afterwards and it hit the dumpster + rain.
I found this thread, but they never got an answer. Almost for sure its the same plug.

There was a clock spring recall for my 08. Did you check to see if yours is under the recall list?

Your stock clock cable has a part attached to it that you left off. It is the vsc control. It should have been snapped on the back of your stock cable. That is where that grey plug goes

Is there a different clock spring that already has it on it?

If your truck has the Trac off option it should have been installed with the factory clock cable. When you buy a new cable you have to remove it from the old one and install it on the new one.

You can get one from the stealership. No need to buy a whole clock cable

Already in the dumpster and it just rained here. Going to pull it out in the morning, maybe I got lucky and it was covered. The used one with the piece cost more than I paid for the new one.

Yes it will unclip from the old one. Use a small flat screw driver or a pick. And slowly work your way around it till it comes off
