I have been lurking for the last week or so and finally registered for an account the other day. It seems that @HeadStrong Off-Road is the go to vendor for parts and advice on lifting the G3 Tacoma's.

I use my current G2 Tacoma as a daily driver for the most part but have done some heavy pulls and loads (bed full of brake rotors and drums lol) and do a fair amount of off road in hunting season.

FWIW I am the alignment tech and mechanic for Jerry Noble and have installed many customer supplied lifts/leveling kits and did all the work on my 06 TRD,so install is not a problem. I just want to get this right as the Gen 3's are a whole new ballgame for me and this will be my first brand new truck :)

On to my question, I am taking delivery of a new 2017 TRD OR DBLCAB SB w/manual at the end of the month/beginning of next month. My plans are a lift, diff+sway bar drop as needed 285/65/16's and a SSO winch mount with a Smittybilt 98510 w/synthetic rope. I would like to avoid the added cost of UCA's but if it has to be done so be it.

I would like to lift it about 2.5"-3" and maintain factory rake or level. It seems that the 6112's for the front may fit the bill. What rear shocks and AAL setup would you recommend for such use. I don't particularly want shocks with auxiliary/remote reservoirs.

    Thanks in advance.

For the TL;DR crowd, I want to lift my truck tell me what parts I need...

If you are running 6112's the rear shock choice would be the 5160's. I'm not sure about the AAL choices but Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road can provide you with all the good info on it you could want. I went through Marie for my lift and she provided me with all the info I asked for so that I could make a good decision.
