So, I've been thinking about purchasing new wheels for my truck before the end of the year. (and before I go on, I'm probably going to get flamed about google this and google that, and honestly.. I've tried. I'm just a 100% huge novice / noob, if you will.. about the truck/mechanical related things and a lot of it just goes right over my head. As a 35 year old, I had my last Tundra for 15 years and kept it pretty much 100% stock. I've tried browsing the stickied forums about tire / wheel sizes, the calculator and all that..)

So anyways.. I was originally looking at some Method 306 mesh's, but I read on one particular site that being a more "aggressive" looking wheel (it's quote, not mine) I might have rubbing or issues without a lift. Then I decided I wasn't 100% sure if I liked the look of the plain chrome/steel looking bolts along the outer rim. (They were 17x8.5 with 0 offset and 4.75" BS)

I then found some Fuel ones.. to be more specific, the Vector's and the Recoil. I don't know which I might want yet, if either.. but I do know that they are 17x8.5 with a -6 offset and 4.5" backspacing. I know I've read on other forums that the 4.5" is a good number for BS. I don't really plan on going huge with tires or anything.. probably stick with 265x70x17's if I can help it.

I haven't really figured out what brand of tire yet. I'm still running completely stock at the moment. Pretty sure the TRD Sport wheels are 17x7.5 and I believe I have Toyo Open Country A30s. That's about all I can recall off the top of my head. I've heard good things about Falken Wildpeaks, Duratracs, etc.. I just know I'm going to want something that can handle lots of rain/water and massive quantities of snow at times, living in New England/MA when I do replace them.

I guess what I don't really understand is if I might have issues with this set up. I've read lots of other threads where some people have to end up with an easy solution of removing mud guards to other things like cab mount chops (which I'd honestly probably prefer not to do on my new truck.. but it probably wouldn't be much if I did) others using spacers, getting lifts or the like.

So, any opinions or information would be appreciated. Most of the threads here I've read or tried to do searches on with people running Fuel wheels all seem to have lifts, and weren't stock.. so I don't know if I'll be out of luck, or if I'll be forced to go that route with a small lift or something, even not wanting too much of a bigger tire. I'm fine with the 17's, I don't need to overdo it.
