My previous set of tires were the BFG All Terrain KO, so I can't make a direct comparison. The Duratrac's are very quiet new but get louder with age.

My Duratracs have been impossible to balance from day 1 as well. From what I can tell most sets unluckily get a warped tire that gets worse over time. I also have cupping issues as well, even with proper rotation. I've just grinned and bared it for the past 3 years.

I know this is an old post. Mine also have never balanced correctly from day one. I’ve had it balance a coupe times. Tried the balancing beads. I’ve had them for two years and have about 20k miles on them. I’ve just dealt with it till now but it’s getting worse. I love the tires off road for the terrain we have. But I’m really regretting get the Duratracs.

My 265/75-16s are many years old now...probably 5, I need to to check...and they balanced perfectly, have stayed balanced, and are wearing great.

Some duratracs balance perfectly (mine) some balance like shit (my co-worker with the exact same truck and tire size)

They are a workhorse tire and it doesn't have quite the same standards as other tires I find.

So against my better judgement,I purchased another set of Duratracs during Discount Tires sale earlier this year. Just got them mounted up yesterday. Tech said they balanced real well. Took a trip to Indy this morning, no issues. My former set of Duratracs would shake the steering wheel and the passenger seat something fierce. It's unfortunate they are so hit and miss,I've never ran a better snow tire and they are great off-road.

Glad to hear these are better but I agree that these premium tires shouldn’t be so hit and miss. I have always had good luck with my GY tires until lately. I had one go out on my Yukon at 5K miles. The tread just separated for no reason. This is the second one with issues on my Yukon.

I love my duratracs. Yes they get louder with age. I've only balanced them once in 4 years, 35k miles. The wear pattern isn't great but it's not bad either considering I hadn't rotated them for 25k miles.

By far the best tire I have ever run.
