So the 3 nuts holding the top plate to the mount, the whole stud spins when I turn the nuts. Any ideas?

Little more info. Truck has toytec boss lift installed. The study come out of a spacer under the shock tower. Looks like they are press fit. I can see it spinning under the spring. I can't take the nuts off =(

Just did this. Thanks for the write up, helped a lot. Did it by myself and took about 3 hrs, including replacing the rear shocks. The carriage bolt was rounded so I had to use channel locks but it came off pretty easy.
    Is an alignment necessary?

Curious regarding this as well, thought with using the method in this thread an alignment wasn't 100% necessary.

I think I will go ahead and align. I have 36,000 miles so probably due anyway.

May due the same but I had an alignment about 5,000 miles ago and I will simply be replacing 5100s on stock coils set at 1.75 with 5100s and OME 884 coils.

I wonder if changing the height also changes the angles of alignment? I've heard of 1 yr and lifetime unlimited alignment offers so I'm gonna search for that.

I thought I could get by without... after driving one weekend, had to get aligned and rotate the tires due to severe cupping!

Nope, everybody who's used Photoplucket for their pictures and linked them to other sites are basically, SCREWED! All the posts you've seen on the web are now worthless (unless you pay PB a fee) without photo's. This is web wide and not limited to this forum. Main reason I bought my own domain and post photo's from there.

My truck came with 5100, and looks like they re-used the mounting. I can't say for sure.
Passenger side looks bad, so I bought the KYB bushing from Amazon. It was only $22~ each, and passenger side ones looked bad.
Going to take it in to a shop to get done, since I don't have a 3 ton jacks and other tools. I bought 5100s and going to re-use the springs (hopefully its still good).

I say why not for under $50, you have that added re-assurance of not having to replace them.

Going back to spacers so I need to remove my Billies and set them at 0 ( they are set at 2.5 now). I never liked the ride and I need to clear 285’s.
Anybody know how To remove the snap ring on the 5100’s?. Do I need a tool?
    Also I got this

How many fingers do you reckon that I can loose?
Any help is highly appreciated. I refuse to pay $900 to get this done. That’s what 4 wheel parts quoted me.

This is the actual kit that I got.

Disclaimer : I don’t do any off-road driving at all, the harder that my suspension has worked was going into a driveway with a 3” lip once.
