@Coot83 if you had to do over again would you get the same CB? Do you have any issues hearing it? Also do you use it any other time other than on the trails?

Yea man I would in a heart beat as I like a clean cockpit. I cant really compare as I don't know to what extent how great a cb can be, but Im sure it would fit your bill pretty well. I do only use it for trails though as with a 5ft antenna I would be bashing that thing for days on the open road.

No worries. I don't even have the vehicle yet haha. If you see a set of wheels that would be good to put on for winter driving though, keep me in mind.

You could always get a small external speaker for $10 on Amazon

I am going with the sti limited if I can afford it (i dont care much for the wing, so the limited has the option of the low profile lip) or if I cant afford that one, then ill go with the wrx limited. I believe the wrx still comes with 18s.

I would only really intend to use mine for trails and maybe road trips. Could I just take the antenna off for daily driving then put it back on when I am doing a trip? Also where did you mount the box for your CB?

Its all good man, I think it took me almost an hour one time to figure out what the quote did when I deleted one of the "\" in it. It will also self populate the ending of the algorithm if it thinks you meant something and is missing a symbol. Sometimes the smart technology can make for bad comedy.

That is exactly what I used to do up until yesterday when I tried out the "whip" set up for mine since it is so long. Shouldn't be an issue at all to unscrew. Mine comes with a little box that I have fastened underneath my driver's seat as it has no inputs on it at all since the handheld utilizes all functions for it. This is the whole reason why I went with the cobra as I didn't want to sacrifice any space for a box that didn't seem very aesthetically appealing to my tastes.

    Thats what I do.

I got an SS bolt to put in the antenna mount when it's off, so that the mount doesn't fill with water.

I fixed my post orginally cause both said tomorrow. Missed the second tomorrow.

We went in this morning. The office manager (head nurse/midwife) wants us in Saturday for the follow-up sonogram. For the wife's piece of mind as well.

Yeah, mounting it out of the way is the most ideal for me, so under the seat seems best. Since the previous owner had multiple CBs I have plenty of places to mount the handheld.

There you go again, making me add to the list and spend more money.

the only time I take off my antenna, is when I am taking my RTT off. Otherwise, I avoid garages like the plague. Im also pretty sure I cant fit in anyways. I need to measure the total height of my truck
