    Hey guys,
    I can't find a video that covers;
    - disassembly of headlights from truck
    - disassembly of the headlights
    - painting of shrouds and everything else chrome
    - installing and lining up projectors
    - installing halos
    - wiring it all up
    - sealing it
    - and the wiring it all up to the truck during install

Most I've seen show the BHLM or the projector install but the ones Ive seen don't focus on the halos and specifically focus on the wiring after the fact.

If there is can someone point me in that direction? If not I'm gunna attempt to build a set soon and will try and take as many pictures as I can to show it all.

Thanks in advance and if the thread already exists Ill have this one deleted.

    My parts for this build:
    -2015 Headlights $250
    -Morimoto D2S projectors 4.0 (O lens)
    -Apollo 3.0 Shrouds
    -H4 motocontrol harness
    -Hylux 45w ballasts
    -XB35 5500K D2H bulbs
    -80mm XSB halos front mounted
    -110mm XSB halos rear mounted
    -Retrorubber (1 roll)

    -Rhett

IMG_0539.jpg Well today I took the extra set of 2015 light I bought from @zeekevin apart.

So there are a lot of different ways to bake them,
    275 for 7 min
    270 for 7 min
    300 for 6 min
    But I used this
250 then turn off and leave for 10 minutes and it was good enough to pry them apart and not be too hot. Plus t cooled fast so that way tons of goop wasn't all over

Here is a link I used for help

Currently working on the shrouds, I made my holes or at least the first 3 still need to figure out where to put the other set of 3 holes for a total of 6 per shroud for the halo. That to me was one of the more confusing parts for some reason. Im opting to use the little tabs that come on the halo and run the picture hanging wire through it and then in and out the two holes eventually tying it behind the shroud. My second halo inside the shroud I will use JB weld steel stuff and JB weld quick. Unfortunately when i went to paint the shrouds the paint would not stick so currently the shrouds are being soaked in some oven cleaner and this other stuff. Should strip the chrome and the paint off then Ill make my other holes and try painting it.

well guys I was gone for my trip for a month which allowed the majority of the parts paint to cure so there wont be any fog inside the head light. Im working on the last part before installation and wiring happens. I cut the back of the bowl housing flush or as flush as I could but now I need to grind it completely flush. Gotta find a local with a belt sander for quick work. After that I paint the bowl, install halos with the wire stuff and the rear halo with quick steel, then mount projector, run wires, back it all together, reseal with silicone on the outside to help fight the inevitable fogging of the lenses, and finally wire it all up.

Still need to figure out how to mount projector, and what wires to tap into what to make halos work the way Im planning.

Thinking for the halos, front be amber always with rear being white then amber when turn light comes on. Not sure yet, might make front and rear white then amber when turn signal.

Subbed. I have almost the same parts list in my basement...just waiting for some free time. Still deciding if I want halos or not too. Sometimes I think they're too ricey, sometimes I think they're necessary to break up all the black that will be in the headlight after I paint it....

Still need to wire the rear halo, add some eyelids, wire tap to get the amber/white DTRL blinker to work on the rear halo, clean up the shitty wiring I did, and seal up the rubber boot in the back. I was dealing with some condensation the first week but I added a seal of silicone the the top half of the headlight to make sure its good and has worked so far. All in all not to bad and if anything happens Ill sell these to make new ones haha
    IMG_2307.jpg IMG_2314.jpg IMG_2391.jpg IMG_2399.jpg

For the shroud I used quick steel one the tabs inside the shroud and then pushed its way onto the projector. Hanging wire on the front halo with 6 halos for the wires around the halo and then a big halo for the wires to the halo to light it up. The rear halo was just loosely laid inside the shroud and then with some quick steel I spread out along the circumference I pushed the halo tighter to the shroud to ensure a good fit. Once you ground the rear of the bowl flat for the lock nuts and all the halo wires can be ran through one of 2 smaller halos, and the highbeam wires ran through the other into the projector. Then I finger tightened the projector to the bowl and ran a bead of super glue around the ring so I can rotate the projector if necessary but not unscrew it. I will recommend when doing the halo mounting since quick steel has residue that screwed up a section of the paint on my shroud that I would triple up latex gloves, use the first pair to mix the quick steel then take those off exposing the second set, then use that set to put the quick steel in place, then rip those off and use the finally set to secure the shroud or halo to whatever. This way there isnt a chance the final gloves get messy and ruin your paint. Work quick as the quick steel is well quick to dry. For the hanging wire on the front halo I put a dot of super glue on the wires to halo them down to the shroud from the inside. BE CAREFUL NOT TO FLIP SHROUD UPSIDE DOWN WHILE GLUE IS APPLIED OR DRYING IT WILL LEAK THROUGH THE HOLES ON THE SHROUD AND RUIN YOUR ENTIRE PROJECT. Then you will have to take the halo off, sand the glue and paint off and repaint. Also DO NOT USE RUBBING ALCOHOL TO REMOVE FINGER PRINTS ON ANYTHING POST PAINTING, as this will mess up the finish of the paint and require repainting. Just wear gloves and keep them clean. Finally when putting headlights together I baked them at 255 degrees for 14min then took them out, pressed them together as much as I could then rebaked for an additional 7 min then pressed them together more with some clamps while screwing them together.

I did not aim my old lights prior to this so my aim on the new projectors is off. I just need to find a local and barrow their lights for measuring. Wiring is easier than it looks, my mounting locations for the ballast is bad and so is the mounting for the relay on the wiring harness but soon enough Ill make something to fix that.

All in all the project just requires time and patience. At first I let the paint dry and used about 4 coats, I tinted the small reflector bowl but ended up adding a coat of actual paint as the tint did not stick well. I think this made the look better but made the reflector not bright at all. When painting, use 2-4 coats and let that air dry a little while then when the paint no longer looks wet put it in the oven on some cardboard for 8 minutes at 155 degrees or so (cant remember but Ill have @ambiguous chime in).

If you have any questions pm me or message on here! @ambiguous was a ton of help and thanks to him I was able to get my retrofit kit and I had to replace my halos a few times because the rubber stuff in the front was cracked and he took over and made sure I got my parts in a quick fashion. Now my lights are like :laser: :facepalm:lol oh well I love that they are overly bright than the shitty stock bulbs that are dimmer than my grandmas knitting lamp

I apologize if I already asked you this- but are you still glad you painted your DRL reflector bowls black? Deciding cause I'm doing my retrofit tomorrow.

Not as bad as I thought and I forgot about LED bulbs! My dilemma I'm having is that I got RGB halos not switchbacks so trying to decide if I wanna stick with the RGB or not. Cause I'd like them to flash amber when turn signal is on.
