Ordered a ktuned engine harness today. Still need to order an ecu and kpro.

Wasn't expecting to have to get either of these but the engine supplier fell through on what they were supposed to give. So now the battle of getting some money back from them

 

Which engine supplier?

 

Just a local-ish supplier. Not sure which tbh since it was my fab buddy who sourced it.

 

Didn't get it from HMO? Usually one of the best place to get K and B series engines from.

 

No, I called and left a message originally but didn't hear back from them. I got this one a little cheaper than they have them listed as well. But now that headache happened.

Just a setback is all that I didn't expect. At least it's something easily bought.

K-Tuned already sent tracking for the harness.

Finally decided to actually do something tonight. Installed the ktuned shifter and started trimming the plastic surround to fit around it.

Need to pick up some of those metal clips that screws go into since there are some missing to hold the surround though. At least I think there were supposed to be some

 

their shifters look so incredible. a serious piece of hardware for sure.

just placed an order for a starter,thermostat, and miscellaneous bolts i need to get this swap together. also need to get a knock sensor and i may grab some rdx injectors

 

its funny how quickly the hardware adds up. i bet i spent around $700-$800 on misc fasteners and oem bolts throughout my restoration lol. A lot of those fasteners aint cheap

 

Yup Im about $700 in already. But that includes a new oem starter, knock sensor, and thermostat.

Ordered rdx injectors this morning. So I should only need axles and intermediate shaft

Did a little degreasing in the engine bay and installed the engine mounts for the most part. Getting minor work done until bolts come in.

Still some thick grease over on the front right side of the engine bay but it all used to look that way so it's a huge improvement.

 

More stuff done!

 

Ha, you had a 3rd gen and changed it up to a 2nd. Tomorrow I'm picking up a 3rd gen. I found a 92 GSR but the owner never replied. I'm actually glad, to change it up a bit with a 3rd gen. (2000 GSR)
Guess I can get rid of those DA6 side moldings now. Time to brush off the old Volk GTA's.

I really enjoyed my third generation. and definitely would have picked one up if I could have found one clean and not priced sky high

 

got the engine and trans put together. parts getting taken off the shelf and finally getting to where they need to be.

was going to try to put it in today but decided to go to the lake. might make some more progress later tonight or tomorrow.

its getting closer! just a struggle with free time and work.
