First, let me express my thanks for the level of expertise here. Even though I have not joined this forum prior to today I have found many answers over the past 5 years that have allowed me to enjoy my 2007 Tacoma TRD Off Road Access Cab to the fullest.

I normally do a search and find my answer, but not today. You have helped me with bull bar installation, fog light modification, installation of LED lights, addition of inexpensive bed rail tie downs, and several other things. Yet, my searching and even my "Google-fu" have not worked today.

I am wanting to install a dual USB charging port in the left hand lower dash panel, right next to where I installed my LED light switch. However, even though it appears that there are two "empty" slots (see first picture), they actually serve as termination points to two groups of wires with plugs (see second picture). I am guessing that these are for items that were not installed on my truck, and notice that the wiring plugs just sit inside the slot covers, without being connected to them.

Am I correct in thinking that I will not have any problem if I just disconnect one of these plugs, stuff it behind the dash, and install my USB ports?

    Thanks much.

You're good to go. The blanks just hold the plugs so they don't rattle inside the dash.

I dug into the manual and found out that the left hand one is for DAC (Downhill Assist Control) and the right hand one is for VSC OFF switch (Vehicle Stability Control).
