Anyone who volunteers their life and service for the benefit of their country and its citizens have my respect and should be treated as national treasures. Combat or not you signed when other(me included) didn't. :hattip::bowdown:

I appreciate that when I joined was 32 years ago and it was a different world beter in some ways worse in others. I did what i felt I needed to do and have never questioned anybody who went another route.

We were laughing about pay the other day and what we made when we were in I had it relatively good at $460 a month I thin after I got married between BAQ and the other allowances I made around $820 a month and that was our sole income what does an E3 or E4 make now. Oh simpler times. It gave me discipline and an undersanding that I do what is required to provide for my family no matter th cost (I'm paying for it now by the way) I made my way with no assistance

Oh man, I don't even remember what I made back when I was an E3. All I know is what I make now. E5 over 4 years of service, with food and housing allowance is about $4.5k I think.

4.5k a month. That's after taxes and whatnot. It's pretty high because the housing allowance is based on location, and this is one expensive location!

San Antonio is a very realistic option of where we may be heading. No idea where that is in relation to you.

I am 225 miles south of that. Think Mexico but on this side of the border.
