PLA isn't the strongest, and doesn't do well in heat, if you get it done check other materials. Though it might not matter for your application.

 

What material do you think? Resin?

 

No. Forget the different kinds, I work with a company that does 3d printing and they've done a bunch of testing on different materials, I'll ask what they recommend. They were having issues with PLA deforming in vehicles.

Will do. I'd have them print something for you but they're not cheap.

A website called Onshape, it's kinda like solidworks but free and cloud based. It's awesome. I sent you an stl version

 

There's another good one. SketchUp i think.

 

I'll have to check it out sometime, the thing I like about onshape is that since it is cloud based I can access it on any computer, phone, or tablet

 

I keep meaning to draft up what I'd like to build for my racing cockpit but without the seat my buddy is giving me, I don't really feel like redoing it.

 

Pretty cool Chris. I wish I had done something like that.

 

My dad and I built a cockpit back when the 486's were brand new for racing "Pod" from Ubisoft.

There's a new free one my buddie uses for CNC, apparently it's awesome, I'll ask him what it is.

 

I wish these people weren't charging hundreds to thousands of dollars for licenses
