This is my first blog or whatever this is.. I just bought my first truck. I didn't know what i was missing. I hate regrets and always like to look forward. I bought a 2wd taco because Ive never had an awd vehicle or a 4x4 and never thought I would need one. Now that I have a truck and took it off-road on some fire roads from apple valley to big bear I kinda have 4x4 envy.
Still I made it through and had fun doing it. I love my taco. Any 2wd overlanders here? Any advice? Any recommendations on trails in so-cal?

    Welcome to TW

    Here's a link I found for 2WD Trails in SoCal. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trails-for-2wd.411173/

There's a couple things you can do to make 2WD more offroad worthy.

Airing down your tire pressure to 10-15PSI will increase the surface area of your tires, giving you more traction.

Adding a selectable locker in the rear will help dramatically. This gives equal power to both of the rear wheels.

I'm sure other members can provide more advice.

Thanks for the thread ...will mos def scope it out.
I was considering getting a rear locker but I just got ko2s and a tonno cover and am a bit strapped. Gotta save up some cash..plus the truck is brand new and am still a little hesitant on voiding out the warranty.
