I'm in the market for a trifold hard cover and leaning towards the Bakflip MX4. Does anyone have any advice and or experience with hard trifold covers? I'm looking for one that's not going to fall apart in a three years.
    Thanks.

Are you not interested in the OEM tonneau? I had mine on the rig for a week and a half through a snowy and rainy spring and it did great. It's all plastic and seemed pretty burly. I'm guessing it would last a long time - I would have kept it on there but I need more space for dogs/gear/sleeping etc.

Extant solid fold 2.0 as been working well for me. I've also heard positive reviews on customer service when issues arise. However, if theres a good group buy on the Diamondbacks I might switch down the road.

Thanks for the responses. MTBX, with the OEM cover i would need the hardware and would need to take it off to have access to the entire bed.
I will look into the solid fold 2.0. Thanks guys.

Seems like most people selling the OEM include the hardware. To remove the OEM tonneau it takes one screw. Hardware is basically posts in the bedrails, wouldn't get in the way. Good luck with the solid fold.

I heard the Bakflips and Undercovers were the same? Anyone know if this is true?

I just ordered a G4 elite from Foldacover. It was a hard decision and it took me hours of research. I did also like the Extang 2.0. It's not easy with all the great selection.

I had a Tundra from 2011 until today when I traded it for a Tacoma. I put an Extang 2.0 tri-fold tonneau on the Tundra when it was just a few weeks old, and had it on the truck about 80% of the subsequent 6 years. That truck lived outside and in a fairly harsh climate. The Extang held up great and is still on the truck, will presumably serve the next owner well for years to come. I'm looking for another one for my Tacoma long bed.

I have the MX4 on my truck and I love it. Very low profile and keeps water out for the most part. However I have only had it for a couple of weeks so I cannot say anything about long term reliability.

I've had the BakFlip VP for about 2 months now and it works pretty good. I haven't drilled the holes in the bed that they recommend for water drainage so some water collects after a heavy rain. Other than that it works great for keeping prying eyes at bay.IMG_0826.jpgIMG_0829.jpg

I just had the Undercover Flex installed on my Tacoma long bed yesterday. I am still learning about it...so far I like it except for the seal on the tailgate. It works best when you lift the last section, close the tailgate and then close the last section of the Flex. It appears the Flex Ultra has solved this issue.

Just got my '17 Double Cab Off Road with the factory tri fold... what's the consensus on these? Do they seal well? I wanted to keep some stuff in it but worry about water getting in. Thanks for any help and sorry for jumping on the tread.
