No retrofit needed with the method in this thread. Not sure what you are talking about.

As others pointed out, that is not at all true. See the thread below that focuses on cut offs and will show you that while being brighter it does not blind other drivers because the beam pattern and cut offs are the same as stock. The reason the bulbs are labeled as "off road use only" because the legal wattage limit is 55w low and 60w high, which these bulbs don't comply.

Anyone familiar with Nokya bulbs? Their stage 1 bulbs last forever. I wonder if their stage 2 bulbs would last a while...

Which ones are you looking at? Nokya bulbs typically run dark heavy coatings to produce high kelvin light colors (super white and blues, 5000k-7000k+ Which halogens do not produce) and these heavy coatings kill lumen output. Nokya does not build performance bulbs IMO, they build fashion bulbs. Though admittedly I do wish they offered their yellow 2500k bulbs in high wattage for fogs. The best performance and bulb life comes from a non-coated bulb. If you just have to have whiter light I would not recommend anything over 4000k.

I have the Nokya yellow 2500k fogs. 9 years and I'm only one the second set. I used to have the Nokya Cosmic white H4s, which are 5000k color. I won't go above that, as then it looks too blue, and has poor lumen output.

The bulbs I have in now aren't coated. Not sure if they're Nokya or not. But my eyes definitely prefer that over the "whiter light" bulbs.

One of the best stock wattage bulbs available on paper, but no personal experience.

Osram is awesome about publishing all their specs on their website, including life, lumen output, power draw and more.

Regular Nightbreakers are rated at 900hrs.
Nightbreaker unlimited are rated at 500hrs.

One more question what is the life of our OEM tacoma bulbs?

    Thank you

OEM typically use lower output long life bulbs, which are rated around 3000hrs.

I agree with this statement so that is why I ordered 4 bulbs. At $15 a bulb they aren't any more than any other bulb. Maybe I get less life out of them but damn the light output is fantastic and I still have the same cutoff lines.

Glad to see i'm not the only one with the faint strip of light above the main beam pattern. FYI, i did the upgrade. I was running the Philips LED's before but they were spotty and had no distance. This light dispersion is much better and i can see further.

Those are H11, your truck takes H4 headlight bulbs. Or 2012-2015 fogs.

Chashburn80, I just performed the headlight wiring harness upgrade on my conventionally switched 06 tacoma double cab. The harness is top notch quality. Looking forward to taking the truck through the Sierra's on my next road trip. Thanks for posting your build!

Hey OP, you mentioned the ground switching deal on some of the Taco's, mines an 06 model. You explained what to look for to know whether or not our model is the one you're referring to, but somehow, I'm missing it here. Please go over that again and the reason behind it. I'm wanting to do this upgrade with the high output 100/90w's. Thanks for the help and good teaching, nice job.
