Ok, so I replaced all of my bushings for my rack a couple months back and now I have noticed a small leak around one of the flare nuts on the back side of the rack on one of the hard steel lines. Are the lines themselves a replaceable part? It appears to be leaking around the treads like it got loosened during the repair process. I am thinking about just pulling it off and teflon taping it to seal it back... anyone else ever done this?

Get a flare wrench and try tightening it down.
I wouldn't use plumbers tape for a band aid here.

New OEM PS lines are around $400.

Not enough to have a build thread.
I second the idea of seeing if you can just snug it up. Clean it off and recheck.

Not sure about these lines, but some of the ps lines i deal with have a replaceable o-ring. Can anyone confirm if these lines have replaceable o-rings?

    They do not.

There's a brass union and the end of the PS lines are flared to the shape of the union.

But the brass union "acts" as a type of o-ring.

No o-ring. Flare nut in housing and line. I'd check to see if it will tighten anymore, if not then remive line and clean up.

Source: have 2 steering racks sitting on bench at shop.

I put my flare nut wrench on it and it's relatively tight. I'll remove it and clean it up.

You can use some 600 grit sand paper and smooth the sealing surface of the line's taper. Make sure after wards you use some brake cleaner with a straw and wash it out. Put the straw in the line before squirting it. That way it washing any abrasives out and doesn't blow it in.
Mine leaked for awhile after I changed my rack. I sanded it then with the line snug I wiggled it back and forth. Kind of to bed it in then tightened it up.
