Fox stg3 and Dakar light dutys in back.
Also did ecgs bushing. Rides better than stock. 265/70/17 for now.

I'm running the same up front, but I went with dakars for the rear instead of the 3aal. That's a good price. I'm running 285/70/17s and have no rubbing during any type of on road driving.

 

Thats the exact setup suspension wise I want to run, except with King's. Are you running the new or the old Dakar springs?

 

I assume it's the new set. I just got them shipped to me about a month ago.

 

Lookin nice and level. Same set up I just got but I went with the light duty dakars. I was worried the heavy dutys would give me to much rake. Did you do bumstops in rear? And about how much thread is showing on your coil overs to get the front that high up?

 

It's really odd. In that photo it appears level. But other times in person it definitely has some rake to it still. I cranked the front 4 times from the factory setting.

 

It's set on 5/4 to compensate for the taco lean. 1.5" AAL in the rear with the overload removed. Factory control arms will work fine. But I would recommend while you are in there going ahead and doing the u-bolt flip kit and replacing the bumpstops with the superbumps kit.

 

I bought the 6112's and 5160's from Headstrong and got the AAL and u-bolt flip kit with superbumps from Wheelers Off-road. No need to do the diff drop, but I did preempt any future issues by going ahead and replacing the ECGS bushing.

 

I got about 1.5" all the way around, so essentially I kept the factory rake. I get compliments on it almost everyday. You will love the look and the ride is even better!!!

 

I've gotten a couple of questions about the install. I did it myself in my friends garage and it took about 6 hours. The front was super easy and the AAL is a PITA, but nothing someone who has basic tools and a little patience can't figure out.

Fronts:
2nd Gen Tacoma Bilstein 6112 set at 5th (highest notch). 3rd gen 6112 has 6 notches (theoretically lifts higher)
Right at 2.5" lift

Rears:
Bilstein 5125
Icon Add-a-leaf (AAL)
1.5ish inch lift

16x8 ET0 (4.5" backspace) with 265/75/16. Will be going 285/75/16 sometime

Ground to fender:
DF: 37.25
DR: 38.5
PF: 37.5
PR: 39

 

I am shocked. I don't get it. Sometimes that tire size looks like freaking Ritz crackers under the truck. Other times it looks perfect. On your truck, it looks great. Not too big and not too small. I don't want to go 285/75/16 because of the need to trim and CMC. Also it seems mixed on the effects to acceleration/gearing, etc.

 

Has a lot to do with the tread and sidewall pattern/design I bet.

These KO2s are E-range so they're already heavy so I dont mind.

 

Finally got everything on the truck. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Wanted to give a shout-out to Dustin over at FN Wheels for hooking me up. Also, thanks to ARB support for sending out a quick replacement for one of my rear shocks as the first had a leak between the main body and the reservoir.
