Just put 17" wheels and 285/70/17 tires on my 13dcsb. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I noticed the e brake light comes on intermittently. Doesnt feel like anything is dragging. Where should I begin my investigation?

There are a couple of things that will turn on this lamp.

1.) The emergency brake switch.Loose or out of adjustment.
    2.) Low Brake Fluid level.

Apply the ebrake and see if the light gets slightly brighter. If it does, the problem is not the ebrake. Don't know if this works on Tacos, but have done it on other cars/trucks.

im guess the rear brakes need to be replaced. the ebrake has a shit-ton of play in it. the switch seems fine.

No. That is not right. That light does not know what the condition of the brakes are...

Is the brake fluid level correct? If it is low that will give you the brake light on the dash.

    What does that mean?

    You've tested it electrically?

The ebrake having play in it can be from several things, but has nothing to do with the dash light. Only the switch function and master cylinder fluid level affect that.

    Last time.

Switch function and master fluid level are what affect the light.

So. Does the switch disengage or not? Is the switch electrically functional or not? Is the master full or not?

Your problem lies there. Quit trying to make it something else.

    It's either a or b.

    Why can't it be c?

    There is no c.

Right but why can't it be c?

Again, it can only be a or b, stop with the c.

Well if it can't be c then i am taking my ball and going home!
