Has anyone had any luck buying used TPMS sensors? Or buying them from Amazon or something similar? Dealer wants 95$ per, after $120 diagnostic or local shop still wants 75$ per and $18 to pull the tire....or am I just being cheap?

Pretty standard pricing. A tire shop broke two of mine when I installed new wheels but they had a couple lying around to replace them with.

Just get them from the TW Buy/Sell/Trade section. There are a few sets available for around $50 for a set of 4.

Tire doesn't get removed to change or install TPMS sensors.

They're trying to dick you for an extra $80.

Breaking the bead doesn't cost a dime in my area.

^The shop still has to go through the motion of unmounting and remounting the tires to get to the TPMS sensors.
A couple of things to consider:
    • TPMS sensors have limited battery life, anywhere between 3 to 7 years. Used ones need to be very severely discounted compared to new.
    • When moving sensors from one wheel to another, the O-rings and other consumable parts should be replaced (typically called a "rebuild kit" or "service pack"), otherwise you might get leaks.

Might be a dumb question, but the guy I had bought my Tacoma from had put aftermarket tires on, does this mean I need a specific PN sensor or were all sensors created equal?
