Yes being preloaded, no I never owned a SNES (I missed out on that one) and the NES that I did have was given away to a cousin, so it's kinda like a stroll down memory lane...

 

I didn't have the foresight to save a lot of stuff. I just moved on to the next latest and greatest. Half the toys I destroyed are collectables (except my Gobots, no one wants them).

 

Makes sense. I still have all but one of my consoles from growing up. Though there was a period in there where I mostly played PC so there's a gap in the evolution. They're currently packed up with most of their boxes (including games packaging) in my brothers basement.

NES>SNES>PS1>N64>Dreamcast>Xbox(Stolen in college)>Xbox 360>PS4>PS4 Pro

 

I still have mine but this NES Classic is a collector's item. I keep it in the kitchen to kill time while cooking or waiting for the coffee to brew. My old NES is having an arcade cabinet built around it. I really only use it for Duck Hunt because it needs a CRT tv for it to work.

 

Rock Lords were some of my favorite toys as a kid. Happy to still have them in a box somewhere in the attic.

My buddy had a younger brother that had one of those talking bears. His parents put in music to help him sleep. We saw a gold mine with this. So we recorded our voice at random sections of the tape. We had some type of voice changer box that made it sound kinda like Freddie Kruger. We recorded ourselves talking to his brother as the bear. We have good ol' Teddy telling him to do all the bullshit we didn't want to do so we could go out and play. The bear was pure evil and we couldn't get enough of it. It would be playing some music then cut right into "Nathan. Teddy wants you to wash Matthew's bike in the morning. If not you'll be sorry". Then right back into the song. The longer this went on the more messages we recorded into the tape. We'd have his brother clean our bikes or do his older brothers chores, organize our G.I. Joes. Whatever we wanted. It cracked us up so much back then. Then his parents found out... And holy shit did we get into trouble.

So a guy who I'm replacing retired today with 30 years in and I thought to myself, that is a long time.

Then I realized I have 30 some odd years left in my career!

I don't feel so old now.

 

I hope I have only about 20 left in my career.
