Yea I def noticed that, unfortunately due to needing space for a bed cage in the front of the bed I will likely just go to my local fabricator for this one. I bet shipping a BAMF rack to the east coast is likely not cheap either. Thanks for the recommendation though.

What kind of bed rack is that? Is it difficult to get the topper up and down?

Looks like the layout of the bars up top allow for the softopper to move unrestricted. Just my observation....

@lowprofile It's home made by a friend and I. I didn't want the usual middle bar like the others so I have a little better access when the topper is off.
The topper isn't able to fold like it's meant to. I can slide it in and out in just a couple minutes so it's still pretty easy. You would have to have a wider rack at the top and no middle crossbar to be able to fold them properly. Most racks are "compatible" meaning they fit over the soft top but idk if any of them allow you to actually fold them still.

That looks like the hot metal fab universal over-bed rack. Check their website, and they also sell on eBay, $400 for that rack, powder coated and shipped. He says it's rated up to 400 lbs while moving, 1000 lbs while stationary. That's one I've been considering, and if it's quality, that's a damn good deal.

Really like it. But it's not one solid piece so I'm gonna have to pass.

Yea, it slides on the cross tubes for adjustability to different truck widths, then bolts to secure the width. You could fit it to your truck, then weld those couple of joints to make it a solid piece. He sells it without powder coat for $300 shipped. Easy couple of welds, then paint or PC.

Wow thanks for this! What a great price. I'm good with it not being solid, just gotta mount the weight the right way, and I have a trusty little Mig, so once its setup right I can always weld it up. What a cool idea though, I really wish the best for that company- great idea on the universalness and pricing on it.

He also sells a package deal containing that rack and his own basket (which actually looks really good) for less than $700 on his website as well (less than some companies' racks cost).
Just so no one thinks wrong of my intentions, I will state that I am not affiliated with this guy or his company, nor do I even know him. I just think his stuff is fairly priced, and it at least looks quality. It happens to be just the height I'm wanting. High enough to still have high visibility behind and to the sides, but low enough that the top of a flat 'basket' will be below the roof line, a short basket will be right at the roof line, or a tall basket will be just above it. I'll likely end up buying his rack after I decide on a design plan for the truck, so I'll see how his quality stacks up.

There isn't enough clearance to put it right on the rack. I used a couple of those foam kayak blocks on the cross bars and shimmed up the front block about 1/2" with a piece of rubber mat to clear the fin on top of the cab. If you're carrying two and have them off center you'll have enough clearance over the cab, maybe 2", with just the foam blocks.

Just finished mine for right now. It's my take on the CBI rack. It comes apart and since I haul motorcycles a lot the rear cross rail will come out and you can pull a bike in there. I'm going to go back later and add some mounting points for stuff like a hi lift and maybe a shovel but I live in the city and I don't really want to leave that stuff on there all the time because it will just be a target. Made out of 1.75" .120 wall DOM tubing and 2x2x.10 square stock. I just sprayed it with black lacquer so I can Weld on it more down the road. I also wanted it a little taller so I can put stuff like surf boards on the rack at the beach and have some shade. It does wobble a little when I hit bumps and stuff so I'm thinking I'm going add a diagonal brace along the cab up front to keep it rigid.
