I personally havent checked the drivers side, I had the passenger side replaced by a local place in town and they said it was good...so they said. I might have to jack up the front and check myself. I do have another bearing and cv for the front so that may be on the list to change.

I just changed my OEM carrier bearing out, dried grease, clicking bearing and ripped rubber. New bearing moves up and down about 3/4" of an inch in either direction whereas old one moved about an 1-1.5" up and down.

Possibly, but I think it was like that from when I bought it.

Although I don't think the turbo helped it any :D

Did you fix it by applying grease to the mating flanges?? Need a follow up!

My amnesia from dropping my driveshaft on my head has finally cleared up.

The noise continues... I've done everything... you name it, I've done it. Have had the drive shaft apart in pieces. Replaced all U-joints. Replaced carrier bearing. Knocked head on wall. At this point I'd like to try and swap driveshafts with someone to see if that would make it go away. At least I'd know if it was in the driveshaft or not!

Take off you rear drive shaft, throw it in to 4x4, turn your truck in to a front wheel drive, and drive around seeing if the noise is still present

call around and find a machinist or driveshaft mechanic to see if he can figure it out.

That's definitely worth a try! Thanks for the recon. I'm not in MN anymore, but it looks like there's a reputable shop in Stockton.
