For any one that is interested. I dipped my '16 but just picked up a 17' or 4x4 and was going to dip it out again. I came across Rustoleum Flexi Dip and decided to try it. Exact same concept but it gives a smoother finish. The plasti dip always had kind of an orange peel effect going on. The rustoleum has worse coverage so it takes more time but so far it looks nice.

To avoid the orange peel texture... I set my cans of pd in hot water 5-10min before spraying.

Tried so show the smooth finish of it. I didn't post with original comment because grill was still off the truck and I was applying it. Badges have been done for a day or so.

When you do the door and tailgate emblems do you just leave them on and tape around them? I am a newbie to plasti dip but i'm stoked to try it out this week, however I want to avoid de-badging if I can.

Yep. Tape and leave about a 3 inch border of no tape around the emblems and peel off excess. Use a tooth pick to get the dip from inside the a, o and in the v6 circle.

    Flat is plain black plastidip.
Matte and gloss come from the plastidip clearcoat on top of the black.
(Spray can called glossifier. Sprayer uses topcoat.)

What's the best way to clean your dipped wheels? Since you can't rub them. Or can you?

You shouldn't have any issue with washing them like normal. Even running my truck through autowashes hasn't messed up my dip.
