I agree! It was pretty cool to have for this project. Not something we are going to offer though.

Which lights are best served as ditch lights for a 2016 DCSB Tacoma?

I am torn between the XL Pro vs. Squadron Pro

Squadron Pro's are bright as hell. I'd recommend them. Not sure about the XL's. I have no experience with them. I have them in my fog location but don't use them as fogs.

Both have the same lumen rating. I think I'm gonna be moving my Squadron Pro from fog to ditch location. Then buy a set of Squadron Sports for fogs. The Squadron Pros are too bright for daily use from my personal experience.

The XLs are noticably bigger and heavier. Would likely need one of the beefier A-pillar brackets to prevent/limit movement and bouncing.

Same lumen and driver in both the Squadron and XL, maybe slightly longer throw with the larger reflector, but minimal?

What's your purpose/goal? Long range from a higher point (spot) or true wide angle aimed out ditch lights? The Squadron Sports put out an impressive amount of light if you aren't looking for the max amount of distance.

Thank you for the good feedback. Based on this and all of my research it sounds like I need to go with Squadron Pro Wide Cornering for my specific ditch light needs

Has anyone tried running the S2 (pro or sport) as fog lights? Wondering if the output is sufficient to be useable as opposed to just cool looking lights.

The S2 Pro definitely have plenty of light output for fogs (about ~2400 lumens compared to ~1000 lumens for the stock fogs), but they won't be street legal. Pattern is way too high and too diffuse to just point them down. The Sports would have the same pattern issues but output is lower than the Pros and closer to stock.

Thanks Ken. I was thinking more for off-road use than everyday street use. I'm also considering the S2 for ditch lights as I'm trying to streamline my lighting and go with better quality products that also have a lower profile than what I have now. Plan would be to run driving pattern lenses on both sets.
